I make HOME VISITS to clients who cannot travel conveniently or prefer psychotherapy sessions in their homes. I will be facilitating a CO-ED RELATIONSHIP GROUP one night during the week. The fee is $25. There is no obligation to commit, though I am looking for people who like to come weekly. I do Individual, Couples, Family, and Group Therapy. I have two groups on BEREAVEMENT in MILTON and ARLINGTON. I am forming a GROUP on SUBSTANCE ABUSE/RECOVERY ISSUES. I have a lot of experience with children of ALL AGES. I specialize in treating individuals and couples struggling with sexual dysfunction. I strive to help those with sexual dysfunction find balance and satisfaction in their sexual lives as well as their overall functioning.

I see therapy as a collaboration between you, the patient, and me, the clinician with years of experience helping people achieve their goals. My style is active, exploring patterns developed in childhood which become obstacles to our happiness as adults. I integrate theories such as narrative therapy, where we examine and challenge the different stories we hold that lead to particular feelings, and also mindfulness, which helps us see clearly, into my work. Coping tendencies such as avoidance due to severe anxiety, eating disorders, depressive isolation, impulsive reactivity, can be transformed into healthy patterns with therapy.

No one is born a parent. Parenting, and especially co-parenting, can be even more challenging when partners disagree, or when larger issues about the marriage or a divorce arise. I help parents understand how to be the best mothers and fathers they can be for their children, and how to work together to support them even under difficult circumstances. I also work directly with couples and families experiencing conflict (together or as individuals), and can provide divorce and family mediation when needed.

Dr. Bain is a psychologist and the Associate Director of The Baker Center for Children and Families at Waltham. She specializes in providing evidence-based treatments for children, teens, and families with anxiety, depression, trauma and disruptive behaviors, and other mental health concerns. Dr. Bain primarily works with patients ages 2-22. In particular, she has in-depth training and experience in assessing and treating children and adolescents affected by high-functioning autism spectrum disorder. Please note that if Dr. Bain is unavailable, there are multiple other clinicians at the Center who can assist you.
