About

I appreciate the trust and bravery each client makes when sharing their story. I invite you into a warm and welcoming environment that is marked by curiosity, familiarity, and, whenever appropriate, bit of humor. Since there is no one-size-fits-all approach to the therapeutic process, I hope to meet you where you are and tailor my approach to your goals and personality. Through our collaboration we will gain insight into your needs and goals, determine how to utilize your strengths overcome those obstacles that have interrupted their progression into the next chapter.
My focus is on emerging adults and adolescents who are struggling with transitions into high schools, college and/or the working world. My focus also includes issues related to relationships, self-concept, and life transitions/changes. I'm experienced t in working with neurodiverse clients including folks living with ADHD and Asperger’s/Autism.
I am currently employed as a Direct Support Professional at the Nicolas Center working with adults with autism focusing on promoting interpersonal skills and emotional regulation practices. I've interned in client support roles at The Arc of Centre County, St. Christopher’s Animal Assisted Therapy Intern, and at LIfeLink PSU.

Frank P Veltri's Groups

Dialectical Behavior Skills (DBT) Training

DBT was created by Martha Linehan to treat people suffering with Borderline Personality Disorder, which had previously been deemed untreatable, but I find that DBT skills (including Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotional Regulation, and Distress Tolerance) are useful to everyone. Including me! This group is meant to provide supplemental support to clients already in individual therapy. The group will meet for 90 minutes weekly for 16 weeks with 4-8 clients in a group. Clients will receive psychoeducation on the skills, discuss how they utilize them in daily life, and empathize and troubleshoot challenges with one another.

More about this group

Trauma Processing (Rape, DV, or Childhood Abuse)

The purpose of this group is to reduce your symptoms of PTSD and reduce feelings of shame by share your story in a safe space with other survivors. This group is meant for clients who have had at least 3 months of individual therapy and are actively attending. The group will meet for 90 minutes weekly for 8-12 weeks with 4- 6 clients in a group. There is a rigorous screening process for this group to ensure clients are ready for this step and that the environment is safe and supportive.
