Being a father/parent, husband, brother, son, and friend are the relationships I am most proud of and invested in my life. I have a highly sensitive and intuitive nature. I embrace the masculine and the feminine in my life and work. I value my open, empathic heart, and sense of humor. I am passionate about spending time in wild places. I build authentic therapeutic relationships with clients and use collaborative healing modalities, empowerment, and self-determination to help clients reach life and behavioral changes. I meet clients where they are as equal and imperfect human beings.
Humans are the experts of their own life experiences, and I see therapy as a vehicle that promotes healing and provides a space to improve communication, connection, and self-awareness. I work collaboratively with clients of almost all ages and diverse personal, racial, spiritual, and socio-economic backgrounds to overcome challenges and reach goals.
I help clients to change unfavorable behaviors and transmute negative emotions to lead more fulfilling lives. I use attachment theory to understand emotions and behaviors. I practice nature walk/hike and talk therapy; empathetic listening/reflection; mindfulness meditation; somatic techniques; Internal Family Systems; and CBT.
