About
Despair, depression, and an overwhelming sense of emptiness. So many people suffer under the weight of these feelings. Because of them relationships flounder and don’t make headway. Family life and parenting become endless arenas for unhappiness and anger, and in the end, life is not lived to the fullest.
Being in a relationship brings all our weaknesses to the fore. Parenting adds another element of difficulty, bringing up issues from childhood, and memories of painful and disappointing relationships with our parents. There are no quick and easy solutions to unhappiness, but
relationships that are emotionally attuned can restructure our way of being, and this is what therapy offers.
Why does it sometimes take one so long to find help, or to believe one can find relief?
It is often difficult and painful to ask for help.
But a good place to
start is to interview a therapist and begin a process that will bring healing through a relationship that provides emotional understanding. Since we become who we are through relationships, there is no more organic way than to sit down with someone and dig through the pattern of your life together.
