I am a Jungian analyst in private practice in North Berkeley. Trained in Zurich, I bring thirty years of experience to a wide range of psychological suffering, including depression, childhood trauma, relationship and family issues, grief, creativity, and spiritual crisis.

A tenured professor of psychology and Research Psychoanalyst I also teach, consult and train. Based in a whole person perspective - body/mind/spirit - my subjects range from mythology to neuroscience. Current research includes trauma and the Goddess Iris.

My practice has evolved to include treating encapsulated trauma that eludes talk therapy. Much psychological and physical pain and illness is based in early trauma experiences outside the reach of memory or words. My analytic work incorporates dreams, imagination, sensory awareness, mindfulness, all in the context of our developing relationship.
