I believe in the Talking Cure. Life can be fraught with disappointments, losses, stressors and challenges that feel overwhelming and discouraging. Finding words to describe thoughts, feelings, past and present experiences, in presence of a compassionate and non-judgmental other, affords profound and lasting relief from the emotional discomfort that interferes with the ability to live the life one desires. Undigested emotional pain from the past can interfere with ones ability to live a full and satisfying life in the present. Identifying those emotions whose roots are in the past, frees us to live more fully in the here and now.
I am committed to creating a treatment plan designed to address problems and concerns presented to me in a highly personal and individualized manner. As a trained and experienced child, adolescent and adult psychoanalyst, I am able to offer the deepest form of therapy when this is determined to be the treatment of choice.
With children, I work through the modality of play. Healing and growth occur as they come to see meaning in their play, find words for their thoughts and feelings, and safety in expressing themselves through a variety of modalities.

This is a group for parents who are clinicians themselves: psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, etc. It is a place to discuss the many feelings they experience while caring for their own infants and children as they arise, with the added dimension of a shared psychological background. Weekly meetings are guided by the specific needs or concerns of participants in a safe and supportive environment. Issues related to sleep, feeding, discipline, returning to work, and relationships with partners are frequent topics discussed with group leaders who are experienced in child development and parenting.

Mastery of Changes- A group for Teens and Tweens

This a group for children ages 10 - 14 where we will help teens and tweens develop skills to master the many changes they face daily. Topics will include Independence, Body Image, Friendships, Parents, Feelings and Social Media. Info Session February 12th at 5:30. Subsequent 90 minute sessions will held on February 26, March 4, March 11 and March 25 from 5:30 - 7pm.
