I am a doctor in marriage and family therapy. I have been doing therapy since the late 1990s. My main focus is for my patients to have a high quality of life, function well, and feel good about themselves and the life that they’re living. I have worked for many years with a variety of patients that struggle with various addictions from eating disorders to chemical addictions. I’ve also worked with individuals who have struggled with dual disorders such as mental health disorders in combination with chemical addictions. I have also worked with individuals who have had various traumas throughout their lives.
The environment that I work on achieving is a safe calm place where someone can share their concerns as well as explore new behaviors. I am an involved therapist that’s interactive during sessions.
I approach goal setting with patients by having them discuss which symptoms are the most disruptive and upsetting. Then from there, we can together come up with strategies and behaviors that reduce the symptoms and help the patient experience more relief.
