Hello, my name is Evelyn Lieb and I graduated with a Masters in Clinical and Mental Health as well as a Masters in Legal and Forensic Psychology from Marymount University in 2021. I am currently a Resident in Counseling at SafeHarbor in Virginia. Having worked as an educator with children ages 0-21 for the last 10+ years, I am now looking forward to continuing working with children in the capacity of a counselor. Furthermore, I have experience in working with children and adults with disabilities and I am fluent in German.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in VA, TX, and MA and earned my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, master’s degree in Forensic Psychology, and master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from American International College in Springfield Massachusetts. I have worked in the mental health field for over 10 years in addiction rehabs, county and city jails, crisis stabilization units, and outpatient services. I use a wide variety of therapeutic approaches that are based on the individual needs of the client. I am also able to supervise residents in counseling.

In 2017 I graduated from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia with two master’s degrees in Forensic Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I completed my Practicum at a non-profit serving individuals with dual diagnosis mental health and substance abuse disorders. I later completed my two semester internship at Counseling and Forensic Services, Inc – Where I am currently working as a Therapist.

Throughout our lives we find ourselves in times of uncertainty or times when much is asked of us. How we respond to such moments will define how we think of ourselves in the time ahead. While there may be a natural inclination to turn away from the moment and think only, "This too shall pass", just how it will pass has a great deal to do with the thinking one does and the actions one takes. I have experience working with youth, adolescents, and adults providing individual, family, and couples therapy. Psychological assessments are also provided. I have obtained advanced training in trauma treatment, which includes various modalities such as art/play therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and EMDR. I have over 14 years of experience working in community mental health, alternative school settings, residential treatment, outpatient settings, and correctional facilities.

I enjoy working with clients of all ages and genders who are coping with anxiety, ADHD, co-dependency, low self-esteem, addiction, depression, life transitions, grief, identity and existential issues. I also have extensive experience working with people who are struggling with ambivalence surrounding change, goal-setting, and motivation.

Understanding the causes of anxiety, depression, and self-doubt by increasing self-awareness is the key to effectively navigating life's challenges. I work with people of all age ranges but specialize in adults in their 20's and 30's experiencing difficulties with anxiety, depression, professional identity, relationship difficulties, and stress management. I also specialize in working with individuals who are self-identified people pleasers, experience social anxiety, and have difficulty labeling feelings. I also provide a range of psychological testing services including for ADHD, psychoeducation, neuropsychology, and forensics.
