Dr. Helen Friedman is a compassionate and interactive clinical psychologist with 10 years of additional formal training after her Ph.D. and 41 years in practice. She works with anxiety, stress, depression, grief, divorce, sexual and relationship issues. Specialty areas are child sexual abuse (children, adults, victims and perpetrators), compulsive sexual behavior (including porn addiction and partners), dissociative identity disorder, and gender identity. Trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities (family systems, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, gestalt, etc.), she tailors her approach to the individual, couple, or family.

Dr. Kaufman is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist and director of Gateway Neuropsychology, LLC. Dr. Kaufman provides evidence-based evaluation services for children, adolescents, and adults, including comprehensive neuropsychological assessment, ADHD testing, and forensic assessment. He also offers individual and family psychotherapy, specialized behavioral therapy for ADHD, and organization/executive skills training. Dr. Kaufman enjoys teaching and speaking engagements, and is currently an Associate Professor of Psychology at Saint Louis University, where he is active in teaching, clinical training, and research.

Many of the patients I have helped, voluntary and court ordered, have tried multiple ways to address their problems, including seeing different therapists and/or taking medications, but have not progressed much. Many treatment approaches are superficial, focusing on reducing the number or severity of symptoms or offering only coping skills. However, these approaches most often only provide temporary relief, but never address the underlying causes of those symptoms. A reduction in symptoms is almost never what struggling people are looking for; instead they want to know where and why problems started and how to fix them permanently.
