As a pregnant mom to be, a freshly postpartum mom, a mom who has suffered trauma, or an established mom, the feelings of stress and the weight of being overwhelmed consume you and make your daily life challenging. This includes postpartum anxiety and depression, mom guilt, the effects of birth trauma or infant loss, and the difficulty of finding yourself again. It's so hard, and even "trying your best" can be exhausting. Processing these emotions and events, trying out new coping skills, and adjusting routines and expectations are among the ways we can work together to improve the way you feel.

Talking things out is good. Holding things in, is not. If you go to doctors for your body, then why wouldn't you go to a doctor for your mind? There is nothing wrong with working on your thoughts and emotions, in fact, if everyone worked on their inner world, we would have a completely different outer world. If you're ready to start working on your self, your relationships, or if you feel like you're not achieving your potential, then give me a call. Please read my reviews by clicking on the Website link under my photo.

Are you a professional, power couple looking to “boss up” at work without leaving your relationship behind? Let’s face it…Life is hard…Marriage is hard…Raising kids is hard…Between work, kids, and family obligations we have very little left to give…And guess who gets our leftovers? Our marriage! I will teach you how to rebuild your emotional connection. Sometimes bad things happened in your relationship months or years ago that still haunts you today. You want to move on but it's not enough to say "let's forget the past." I help couples heal those wounded parts of their relationship by using an attachment (EFT) & trauma (EMDR) lens.

I help my clients with relationship issues, feelings of anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, anger, betrayal, emotional disorders, & problems with addiction. The clients that I serve often feel stuck and overwhelmed by stressors in their life. They have attempted to solve the problem repeatedly, but still feel distressed. This is when they feel they need an outside objective and trained therapist to help navigate these life challenges. If any of this resonates with you, then you have come to the right place.

I have been in the mental health field for over 25 years, receiving my MSW from Indiana University Northwest School of Social Work. In my private practice, I have the freedom to conduct sessions in a relaxed, hopeful environment. Therapy on THE BEACH uses a positive approach to bring about change. I have worked with all age groups; working with families to integrate children back into their family settings. Clients with dysregulated moods, depression, anxiety and anger issues. Working with couples through my own technique WAR. Working with the elderly who often times feel like they are facing depression and end of life issues alone.

Together we will explore limiting beliefs and messages that you hold deep inside as a result of your trauma (BigT or little t). Untreated it contributes to anxiety, substance abuse, depression, and/or codependency. This results in a repetitious pattern of self – sabotage. In fact, we can become addicted to the drama &chaos. A true source of unhappiness. Leaving you feeling stuck. I utilize modalities that actually move stuck energy. EMDR can reset negative core beliefs with a more adaptive positive belief using rapid eye movements & reprocessing disturbing events. You don’t even have to talk about them to have it be effective.

I specialize in sexual issues and persistent psychogenic pain. Both of these realms entail working through trauma, anxiety, grief, impulsivity, and depression. In sex therapy, I help clients grappling with issues around functioning, sexual shame, sexual trauma, impulsive behaviors, sex and porn "addictions," low and hyper-arousal issues - all from a sex-positive, kink/poly/bdsm-friendly stance. I also help couples navigate challenges in their intimate relationships. With chronic pain and discomfort, I help people change their relationship to the symptoms, which leads to drastic reduction and often elimination of symptoms.

How can I find a therapist in Florida?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the United States, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
