I believe people have the ability to heal from harmful experiences. I seek to create a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients, building trust through compassion and nonjudgmental understanding. I use an integrative approach which includes evidence based theories and therapies. I implement EMDR, cognitive behavior therapy, person-centered therapy, positive psychology, solution-based therapy, and family systems therapy. I take a holistic therapeutic approach in working with the client’s well-being through addressing mental, physical, and spiritual health. Most importantly, I feel blessed to be part of this profession!
As the wife of a Veteran, I became a counselor in hopes of helping Veterans and their families. I have worked in community mental health for the past 12 years gaining experiencing in all areas of mental illness, specializing in crisis and trauma. I have also maintained a successful private practice.
I believe in a strengths based approach and being solution focused. I also believe that if a client is ready, he or she can achieve transformational healing.
