My therapeutic approach is a casual one. I strive to make therapy something that feels comfortable for a client, more like a conversation with a friend than something clinical. My focus during sessions is always client-centered, as only the client can know what they need to get out of our time together and thus what they need to put in. I specialize in working with anxiety, depression and relationship issues but have experience in much more as well. I have a background in addiction counseling which has provided the foundation of skills necessary to be a truly empathetic, effective healer.

Perhaps you’ve spent years trying to be “perfect” or to feel "good enough" and yet good enough never feels enough. Or maybe the noise of others’ control and desires stifles your own voice. You could be the person constantly taking care of others where you don’t know what it’s like to tend to your own needs. Or perhaps you’ve grown accustomed to hearing that you’re “too sensitive” or “emotional” where you’ve wondered why you feel things so strongly in comparison to others. Whether its shame, stress, life transitions, trauma, relationship issues, anxiety, or another life struggle, we can work together through your adversity.

"Trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness." - Peter A. Levine. It is my firm belief that everyone needs a safe place to explore, grow & heal in the presence of another and I consider it an honor to provide such a space day after day to my clients. Trauma recovery is my specialty and use EMDR or A.R.T to facilitate recovery. Many clients may not remember certain times in their lives but believe something may have happened. This is called dissociative trauma.

As a Christian Therapist, my commitment is to honor the importance of integrating your faith in the counseling process. My desire is to help you explore the good that God is building into your life and to identify obstacles toward that growth. Life's difficulties often provide fertile ground for our personal and spiritual refinement. Whether you might be dealing with marital tension, struggling as a Christian leader, going through challenging transitions, or experiencing a time of loss, I would be privileged to help you find hope for the next chapter of your life.
Overcoming life’s adversities and identifying areas of growth within ourselves is not an easy process. Changing patterns that have once served a purpose but are no longer helping can be scary and intimidating. Therapy can provide a safe space for you to be genuine in your thoughts and emotions, and let go of the things that are no longer serving you. As your therapist, I utilize a CBT approach, as well as relational therapy in order to support you in overcoming difficulties you may have faced, and gain a better understanding of how these experiences may have impacted you in your relationships, behaviors, and thought patterns.
I help anxious, depressed, lonely, and trauma surviving adults & couples create hope, find healing, and discover connection. Adulting is hard. Your anxiety has anxiety. Your depression has depression. Maybe you feel alone…in a crowded room, even with friends or family…always alone. Maybe you feel hopeless, exhausted, like you can’t get out of bed, all the while, your mind won’t stop racing…
