Parenting Therapists in Tampa, FL
You’re responsible, thoughtful, and hold yourself to a high standard—whether as a parent, partner, or professional.
I work with people who are tired of living under that pressure. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety as well, or carry the impact of past experiences that shaped how they see themselves. Together, we focus on understanding the patterns underneath the self-doubt, guilt, and perfectionism—not just managing the symptoms.

Do your (or your child's) emotions or behaviors get in the way of day-to-day activities? Does it feel like you're talking (or thinking) in circles, and running into the same problems over and over? Without a “how-to” guide, it can be exhausting and overwhelming trying to navigate life's challenges on your own. Even the process of seeking professional help can be daunting. If this sounds familiar, you are not alone. As a Licensed Psychologist, I use a collaborative and strengths-based approach to help children, adolescents, adults, and caregivers overcome challenges, improve relationships, and experience more joy.

I offer relationship therapy for close relationships in the following areas: communication issues, emotional and physical disconnect, challenging patterns, difficulty navigating different perspectives or worldviews, infidelity, divorce, parenting concerns, relational issues with family members, friends, or co-workers.
I am a clinical psychologist specializing in couples and family therapy. I work at the largest VA couples therapy clinic in the country. I focus on helping couples feel safe to be vulnerable and to understand complex relational patterns with compassion. Many couples seek help with "communication," often pointing to deeper emotional disconnect: feeling unheard, and unsafe being vulnerable. These struggles are common not because we’re broken or don't care about our partners, but because the warmth and sense of safety we once had have slowly dimmed over time, often unknowingly. This makes it harder to share and truly hear our longing.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (Texas and Florida) I’ve worked with Individuals, Couples, Families of various sizes, with a plethora of sessions on parenting.
I daydream of going on cruises with my wife, occasionally think about bringing our children along. I treasure a long nap in a hammock, and I love movies. Once upon a time I even submitted a short film to the Cannes Film Festival (wasn't selected) but I did enter. Prior to being a therapist, I found myself listening and caring.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.
When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.
How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
