You've spent years trying to make your body smaller, quieter, more acceptable. You've followed the rules, broken the rules, hated yourself for breaking them, and started over on Monday. You're not here because you haven't tried hard enough. You're here because trying harder isn't working, and some part of you suspects the problem was never actually you. That part is right. The messages you received from family and diet culture that's been selling you a lie since before you were old enough to know better have shaped everything - the way you eat, the way you see yourself, the way you show up in the world. None of that is your fault.

Slay mama! You found my profile! I value creating a space where we will explore who the villain of your story is, whether it be feeling overwhelmed, isolated, or something else. While I enjoy working with everyone, as a queer therapist, I specialize in working with queer/trans teens & adults. I appreciate creating a comfortable & geeky space where you can show up as yourself. Sometimes that looks like discussing your OCs and other times it means watching real housewives and how your partner can be just like Meredith Marks.

My ideal clients are adults who appear high-functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected inside. They may be professionals, business owners, older adults, people in recovery, musicians, or creatives. Many come to therapy for anxiety, burnout, trauma, grief, chronic stress, performance pressure, relationship patterns, life transitions, addiction-related struggles, or loss of meaning. They want more than symptom relief—they want real change, clarity, and a more grounded way of living.

As an existentially-minded therapist, I am deeply committed to helping people find peace of mind, particularly as they navigate grief and end-of-life transitions. I understand the profound challenges of modern life, recognizing that many experience rushed living, lack of acceptance, and anxious or depressed moods, which can lead to unnecessary suffering, especially during times of significant loss and change. I am particularly attuned to the delicate and often overwhelming emotions associated with grief and loss, guiding individuals and families with compassion as they navigate these profound life passages.

Making the decision to start therapy is a profound investment of your time, energy, and vulnerability. If you are looking for a blank-slate clinician who simply nods and listens, we might not be the best fit. I offer a highly engaged, malleable, and unflinching partnership. My approach is rooted in the belief that while the work of untangling our lives is deeply structural, the room itself doesn't always have to feel heavy. I bring a grounded warmth to my practice—which means knowing how to sit quietly in the gravity of a difficult truth, but also knowing when to break the tension, exhale, and find the light in the complexity.

As a high performer, you know the mask you wear to hide the internal tension building inside. Wearing it drove you to success and a powerful capacity to care for others, but you know something is off. Relationships feel distant, social interactions are draining, and your mental and physical health are in decline. The most isolating part? No one else can tell. Success shouldn’t feel this lonely.

Here we go again, another day of feeling overwhelmed, on edge, tense in your stomach, aches & pains in your body with intrusive, racing thoughts that feel like they have hijacked your brain. Are you frustrated that you can't seem to reach your goals and dreams in career or relationships despite your best efforts & intentions, like something is blocking you? Feel like you don't fit in, "too sensitive or overly emotional"? Do you absorb the energy around you? Do you want to help others with their pain, yet you neglect your own problems? You are at war with an invisible enemy, tired of watching life go by while you are missing out.

Jewish Therapists
Why is it important for a therapist to be culturally sensitive?
Therapists and clients don’t need to share the same background to be able to work together, but a therapist whose training includes a focus on cultural competence may be better able to form a therapeutic bond with individuals from a range of backgrounds, as they will have experience tailoring their approach to each client—and will be prepared to acknowledge and consider the effects of cultural forces, such as discrimination, that may contribute to that client’s concerns. With a professional who has such training, a client should feel comfortable discussing sensitive issues without feeling that they need to self-censor.

How can I recognize an effective Jewish therapist?
As with members of any religious or ethnic group, just because two people happen to be Jewish does not guarantee that they will share the same values, knowledge, or experiences. A Jewish client seeking a therapist who shares their cultural identity, or for whom it’s important that a therapist share their religious beliefs, may want to discuss a professional’s Jewish background with them before beginning therapy. For someone who seeks justification for major life changes in their religious tradition, or in biblical writings, finding a therapist who is comfortable framing guidance in that context may be especially valuable.

Would a Jewish therapist have unique training?
No, but they should have the same training and certification as any other mental health professional, as well as experience with a range of evidence-based techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy or mindfulness-based therapy. A therapist with this type of experience should be able to help any client feel comfortable and safe, which is essential for a therapeutic alliance. Once this is established, a potential client may want to find out more about the therapist’s Jewish background.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience with Jewish clients?
A client can directly ask a therapist if they have extensive experience working with Jewish clients and if so, whether these individuals sought counseling for faith-related issues or marital or familial issues in which their Jewish background was a factor. A client may also wish to ask a potential therapist whether they incorporate Jewish teachings and values into their own professional work.

Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Jewish therapists?
The directory of Jewish therapists includes professionals who have opted to share their cultural background on their profiles. However, not all therapists choose to disclose their background, and they may not appear in search results for this reason. The directory also shows therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with Jewish clients and/or communities.
