I specialize in fertility issues and work with people trying to conceive, after my own personal struggle with infertility . I also specialize in depression, anxiety, and relationships. http://kathyfountainfertility.com/ I use a mind-body approach, believing in the power of relaxation techniques to relieve the stresses that interfere with our natural ability to cope. I work with individuals and couples, including gay and lesbian clients. I particularly specialize in third party reproduction, infertility and loss issues, and work with those who are using non-traditional methods to build their families.

I am passionate about supporting women through all aspects of their reproductive journey. Parenthood can be filled with great joy; however, it can also be heavy, heartbreaking, and lonely. Everyone’s journey to motherhood is unique. I never imagined becoming an infertility therapist, but my personal journey is what fuels my passion to support others facing similar challenges. My motivation and my heart is to offer a non-judgmental, safe space for my clients to be vulnerable and to feel understood. I offer individual counseling for women suffering from infertility , postpartum anxiety and depression, and other reproductive traumas.

Infertility can be very isolating.
Family building can be an incredibly difficult time for those struggling with fertility. The emotional rollercoaster of months and years of trying, countless exams, tests, injections, and procedures can be daunting. Many individuals can even experience trauma from all the physically invasive procedures that occur with fertility treatment. Each month a pregnancy attempt fails you can experience grief, isolation, anger and fear that the dream of building a family won't be attainable. Those able to conceive also struggle with intense emotions during pregnancy and postpartum that can be overwhelming and hard for others to understand.

I am also dedicated to working with individuals and families who are navigating infertility , adoption, and the postpartum period.
You’ve got a lot going on, and it feels overwhelming. Maybe you have too many choices and can’t decide what to do. I help individuals and couples reclaim their personal power and author a life story that is just right for them. Maybe therapy seems like something you don't "need," but you want to move from surviving to thriving and know something needs to change. You want to feel better and get some relief but are not sure how to get there. My approach is warm, collaborative, and directive. My first career was in the corporate world, and I bring many aspects of my business experience in to my work with clients.

I've worked with individuals, couples and families who have a variety of personal issues such as depression/anxiety, stress, family problems, trauma/abuse, relationships/parenting, grief/bereavement, infertility , life-threatening illnesses and more.
Over the past 15 years as a clinician, my experience has taught me that the most important aspect of counseling by far is the connection and comfort you feel with the person you choose to share your personal struggles. I believe we can all grow through challenging experiences by self-awareness. We all want to be able to share our personal truths and be accepted and understood. I believe it's very important to be open-minded and non-judgmental when someone shares their personal story or experiences.

I also enjoy working with those struggling with infertility and I have lived experience.
My goal is to help you love yourself for who you truly are. This can take the form of identifying who you truly are rather than attempting to fit into the boxes you feel others want you to be. I have a passion for working with individuals who have experienced trauma. And helping couples reconnect and understand each other deeper to stop the same arguments from occurring . I want to help you feel more confident navigating the world while feeling safe, less anxious, and able to stop those constant negative thoughts that can be paralyzing at times. I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and other trauma modalities

My clinical interests within these age groups include stress, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, infertility , grief related to miscarriage, and eating concerns.
Making the decision to reach out to a psychologist is a courageous one and I understand the vulnerability required to make that phone call. As a psychologist, I try to create a collaborative environment where I help to empower my clients to develop a deeper understanding and awareness of themselves. I take on a more active role and do more than ask how something makes you feel. I can provide objectivity, support, feedback in a nonjudgmental manner, and skills to be able to tackle a variety of concerns in life.

My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, women’s health (perinatal mood disorders, infertility , medical problems), work-related stress and burnout, health promotion, pain management, and pre-surgical psychological evaluations.
When we struggle with psychological distress, meaning stress, anxiety, panic, or overwhelming sadness, we tend to feel isolated and disconnected from the world. Do any of these resonate to you? Social connection is an intrinsic part of our human nature, and as such, in times of difficulty, seeking social support and guidance helps to improve our overall wellbeing.

Our world is a crazy place. Stressors come in so many forms and can become overwhelming. I work closely with my clients using targeted strategies to generate change, manage fears and anxiety, and create new patterns of behavior that can help create the life you want to live. I have training in trauma and work often with family systems and couples (I do individual work as well). I believe that there is strength in the systems we build for ourselves and progress can be more rapid and meaningful when everyone in the system work toward a common goal.

If you're a new mom who is struggling to adapt, you're in the right place. I am an online therapist for moms and I understand how much pressure you're under and how hard it can be to know where to turn to for your own support. If you're feeling exhausted, uncertain or yourself, unable to sleep, anxious or depressed it's essential that you prioritize your mental health with someone you can trust. It can feel vulnerable and overwhelming to take this first step so I applaud you for even being here in this moment. You deserve to be well again and it would be my honor to support you on your path to healing

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over a decade of experience providing evidence-based treatments (CBT, DBT, ACT, and ERP) for a wide range of mental health issues. I'm licensed to provide care in New York, New Jersey, and Florida. Through my generalist training, I developed particular interest in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and reproductive struggles, which led to additional, specialized training in these areas. I am currently only offering tele-health services. I have trained in a variety of mental health settings treating adolescents and adults. These settings include hospitals, community clinics and private practice. I believe that therapy is an essential way to understand how the emotional and physical bodies are connected. Gaining insight of the internal self, and learning the mind-body connection, guides us to acknowledging and accepting our actions, reactions, and behaviors. Throughout my career I have worked with individuals struggling with fertility issues, trauma, anxiety, self-esteem, depression, and martial discord.

Infertility Therapists
Infertility can have a profound impact on one’s mental health. When men and women find out that they can’t conceive, they may experience the same painful emotions as anyone coping with grief or profound loss. Common reactions include shock, frustration, grief, anger, decreased self-esteem, anxiety, and depression, but feelings about infertility can vary greatly depending on the source of the problems.
