I am a neurodiversity affirming Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and I provide mental health counseling to autistic adults.
You may have a sense that something needs to change because the way you have been doing things isn't working, despite perhaps years of great effort. You may be completely exhausted, physically, mentally, or emotionally. You might be achieving success, academically or professionally, yet struggling in your daily life. Mundane tasks such as shopping, doing the dishes or paying the bills may feel impossible. And navigating relationships at work or with friends and partners might be confusing or too complicated. You may act okay, saying, "I'm fine." But inside, you aren't.

Sometimes understanding your child's learning, behavior, and/or social-emotional needs and how to help can be a challenge. But taking the first step in supporting your child is the most important one. In order to best help your child, a comprehensive psychological evaluation may be beneficial. Whether to better understand your child's strengths and weaknesses or to assist in treatment planning, early identification can reduce and prevent long-term negative outcomes. I specialize in the assessment of and treatment planning for children ranging from early childhood through early adulthood to help families better support their child.

Many are late-diagnosed autistic or ADHD adults who spent decades reverse-engineering social and emotional rules that no one ever explained to them.
I work using the Spiess Unified Loop Framework (SULF), a nine-step model of how the brain turns needs into behavior. Grounded in predictive processing neuroscience, SULF makes visible the loop your brain runs below conscious awareness. Instead of fighting your reactions, you learn to find the step where your loop got stuck and question the story driving it

I provide an Autism-affirming perspective in therapy and believe autism is a genetic neurotype, not a disorder.
Healing happens when we feel safe enough to show up exactly as we are. All parts of you are welcome here. I’m not here to change you or fix you. I don’t think you are “broken” or that there's anything "wrong" with you. Together we'll create an accepting + compassionate environment, with respect for your intuition + body's wisdom underlying all that we do. I’m trauma + social justice-informed and view therapy through an intersectional lens (mind, body, environment, culture). During our time together, we’ll likely look at environmental factors (interpersonal, economic, oppression) that create individual/collective stress and trauma.

This is especially common with children and teens among other struggles such as depression, ADHD, Autism, life transitions, chronic illness, OCD, and lack of self esteem.
Hi, I'm Kenzie! One of the bravest things people can do is to reach out for some help, especially in our child, adolescent and young adult years. Growing up can come with all sorts of pressure, confusion, and judgement, leading to anxiety and other strong emotions. Anxiety may cause us to struggle with communication, lash out in anger, act on impulses, get lost in our feelings, avoid tasks, distract us from success, and disconnect us from support systems.

The dragonfly, in almost every part of the world, symbolizes the change in the perspective of self-realization. The kind of change that has its source in mental and emotional maturity and the understanding of the deeper meaning of life. We weave this meaning into the fabric of our mission and in the work we provide to every client enrolled at SHARE. Are you stuck or lost? Are you struggling with anxiety and fear? Are those intrusive thoughts derailing your days? Feeling disconnected from yourself or your partner(s) can leave you feeling unloved, undesirable, and alone. Whatever your struggle, I am here for you.

Autism Therapists
What is the most effective treatment for autism?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) has come to be considered the standard treatment for children with autism spectrum disorder, and research has confirmed its effectiveness for many children. Therapists trained in ABA techniques work with children (and their parents) on developing social skills, communication and learning abilities, and everyday habits of hygiene and grooming. The clinician will tailor their program to the child’s particular need but the overarching goal will be to help them advance as far as possible toward independence based on their level of symptoms and decrease the need for additional special services. Families should seek a mental health professional specifically trained in ABA, and holding special certification in the technique, who has extensive experience not only with the approach but in using it with children with the same level of symptoms as the child who needs care.
How does ABA work?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) sessions, which typically focus on positive reinforcement, can be intensive, lasting two or more hours several times a week, and continuing for two years or more. Therapists can also be expected to ask parents to take an active role in reinforcing lessons. Research has found that the technique can lead to major improvements that decrease the need for additional special services.
How does treatment for autism work?
Therapy sessions based on Applied Behavior Analysis will likely be frequent, intensive, and highly structured. After a thorough assessment, a therapist will help a child understand and develop skills in a range of areas, including communication, motor skills, social skills, self-care, play, and academic skills, as well as routines of daily living like hygiene. Typically, the therapist will help a child break down the components of a behavior—often referred to as the antecedent (what prompts an action), the behavior, and the consequence(what immediately follows)—and then reward the child at every step, while also asking parents to reinforce the lessons, and the rewards, throughout the day. This core therapy may be supplemented by occupational or speech therapy, and antidepressants, antipsychotics, and anticonvulsants may be prescribed to address specific severe symptoms.
How long does therapy for autism take?
Some people with autism spectrum disorder may be engaged in some level of therapy for many years, but research shows that treatment will be most effective if it is begun early and delivered intensively. When therapy begins by age 3, children tend to be better able to grasp and adopt the skills needed to manage everyday life, including attending school and establishing social relationships. This type of early-intervention treatment regimen is highly structured, typically involving 20 to 40 hours of one-on-one therapy per week, along with additional hours of engagement managed by parents, for a period of two years or more, although the duration of treatment is dependent on the child’s level of symptoms and pace of progress.
