Attachment-based Therapists in Tampa, FL
My work is guided by a commitment to those who may feel uncertain or stuck, struggling with self-doubt, inner conflict, or feeling overwhelmed by their emotions. They may navigate difficult relationships or find themselves repeating patterns they don’t fully understand. Anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem may leave them feeling disconnected from themselves or uncertain about who they are. They are curious (or open to curiosity) about their experiences and appreciate a journey toward deeper self-understanding. They seek a space to explore their emotions with curiosity and compassion.

I use EMDR, somatic therapy, parts work, and attachment-based support, always at your pace.
You’re not broken; you’re overwhelmed, maybe exhausted, and doing your best with everything you’ve been through. If you’re carrying the weight of anxiety, depression, self-doubt, or a sense that something’s just off in your body or your life, you’re not alone; and you don’t have to keep doing this alone. I work with adults and teens who’ve lived through overwhelming, painful, or traumatic experiences that left a mark. You might find yourself stuck in patterns you can’t explain, struggling with self-worth, disconnected from what you want and need. Maybe part of you is just tired of holding it all together.

Helping adults recover from burnout, stress, grief, abuse, and attachment issues. Clients often come to me when they’re feeling anger, despair, panic, or emotion that feel bigger than the moment. They might people-please, shut down, or react in ways that don’t reflect who they want to be.
They’re thoughtful, capable, and used to handling things on their own, yet they keep ending up in the same emotional cycles or relationship dynamics. It’s frustrating to have insight and still feel stuck.
These patterns often come from earlier experiences or attachment wounds that the nervous system is still responding to.

My ideal client is insightful, high-functioning, and exhausted. They’ve survived trauma, lived in hypervigilance, or carried perfectionism like armor. They want to feel calm in their own body and connected to themselves and others. They crave clarity, deeper rest, and a sense of authenticity—not just coping, but thriving with intention.

Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here. You're not "too much" or "too sensitive". You've likely spent a long time trying to make sense behavior that doesn't make sense. Walking on eggshells, second-guessing yourself, and feeling emotionally exhausted in relationships that leave you destabilized instead of supported. I specialize in working with individuals navigating high conflict and emotionally complex relationships, including coercive control, betrayal & cycles of rupture and repair. Many clients come in feeling confused, dysregulated or questioning their own reality, and we work to restore clarity, stability, and self-trust.

Attachment-based Therapists
Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?
Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.
What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?
Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.
How long does attachment-based therapy last?
Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.
Does attachment-based therapy work?
Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
