Life is often like a roller coaster, producing some amazing highs of happiness and joy, and hard and scary lows. Several years ago I made an intentional choice to leave a 20 year career as a professional engineer to learn the skills and tools needed to sit in the rollercoaster car with you and embark on a journey of experiencing the grace of the highs and the hard and often painful work of coming out of the lows. I am a dedicated and empathetic professional with a strong desire and passion to see people’s lives transformed and reach their full given potential.

Do you hold it together for everyone else? Do you carry the pressure alone? If you answered yes, and the pressure never really lifts, and your mind has problems slowing down, then therapy can help.
You’re successful, capable, and driven — but underneath the accomplishments, anxiety or depression may be quietly wearing you down. You might struggle to slow your thoughts, set boundaries, or feel satisfied despite everything you’ve achieved. Pushing through has worked before, but now it feels exhausting.

Accepting new clients. For more info check out my website and media interviews. I do not believe there is an ideal client. In my years of work I have encountered many people with many reasons for why they are the way they are. What I know is that if you are open to the process, we can figure it out. Most of my clients are nervous when they come for the first time, and rightfully so. It's anxiety provoking to talk to a stranger about your "stuff." Despite that hesitancy they overwhelmingly experience relief and begin to see a path forward after we start our work together.

Would you like someone to talk to - completely without judgement or bias? To have a safe space for guidance? To gain a different perspective? Everyone goes through challenging situations in life, and while you may have successfully navigated through other difficulties you've faced, there's nothing wrong with seeking out extra support when you need it. In fact, therapy is ideal for people who have enough self-awareness to realize they need a helping hand, and that is something to be noted. Here, you are taking responsibility by accepting what you are experiencing and making a commitment to change something about it.

Google" research rabbit holes trying to figure out whether this is really OCD— or even tried therapy and left feeling misunderstood and exhausted.
For some, exposure therapy isn't the right fit. I use Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT), a cognitive approach that shows how OCD pulls attention toward imagined possibilities and away from what is grounded in reality. We learn to notice these shifts and unhook from OCD’s “what if” reasoning, rebuilding trust in your judgment, senses, and self-trust.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.
What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.
Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.
Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
