Would you like someone to talk to - completely without judgement or bias? To have a safe space for guidance? To gain a different perspective? Everyone goes through challenging situations in life, and while you may have successfully navigated through other difficulties you've faced, there's nothing wrong with seeking out extra support when you need it. In fact, therapy is ideal for people who have enough self-awareness to realize they need a helping hand, and that is something to be noted. Here, you are taking responsibility by accepting what you are experiencing and making a commitment to change something about it.

You just finished work, and you’re totally exhausted. You never thought the career you worked so hard for would be this draining. Instead of fulfillment, you’re running on fumes. The long hours, constant demands, and endless responsibilities never let up. You’re so frazzled that even rest doesn’t restore you. Despite the grind, you still hold yourself to the highest standards. It’s frustrating that others don’t do the same. But deep down, you know this isn’t sustainable. If you keep going like this, you’ll never have time for what truly matters. Even if you could slow down, you’re not entirely sure who you’d be or what you’d do.

Hi there lovely, let me guess… You’ve got the Pinterest-perfect routines, a growing collection of hobbies (hello sourdough and gardening), and a bookshelf full of self-help. From the outside, it looks like you’ve got it all handled — but inside, it’s a different story. If you’re the kind of person who is high-achieving, deeply self-aware, and maybe just a little too good at holding it all together — but secretly anxious, overwhelmed, and constantly chasing the feeling of “finally getting it right” — you’re not alone. Sound familiar? You're in the right place.

I like to think of therapy as a really good conversation—except it’s all about you. You choose the subjects and set the goals, and I’ll be a warm, easy person to talk to along the way. If you want to keep things light, we can. Once you feel comfortable, I’ll gently help you go deeper and uncover the blind spots that may be keeping you stuck. My goal is for our sessions to feel honest, open, and supportive—so you can leave each one feeling clearer, lighter, and more connected to yourself. There's no use coming to therapy if you're just going to stay in the same place, right?

When I imagine the “ideal client” I do not see a specific person. I see is someone who desires change and is willing to put in the work to attain it. I imagine someone who is willing to be vulnerable, open-minded, and trusting of the therapeutic process. This person understands that there will be hurdles along the way, but they recognize that they do not have to face those hurdles alone. It is my responsibility as a therapist to create an environment where all my clients feel safe, comfortable, and understood. I hope to get the chance to help those who allow me to do so.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
