My idea clients range from early adulthood to age ninety (90). Most seek to work with me because they have relationship challenges, mood issues or anxiety. Most couples who attend will seek to improve their relational skills such s better communication, revitalized positive emotions toward each other, or to resolve conflicts. Individuals who attend tend to have depression , anxiety or general unhappiness and wish to discover a more peaceful and calm manner of living. Frequently, families going through divorce will also seek support to deal with the challenges from resolving parenting or co-parenting issues, or improve live changes.

I have worked with individuals and families of varying ages and backgrounds, focusing on various concerns including depression , anxiety, mood disorders, relationship and attachment issues, anger management, self-esteem, and parenting skills.
As a clinician, I strongly believe that each individual is their own expert. When things become complicated, it is often hard to put ourselves in the driver’s seat and take control. Through practice, I hope to help you find that strength within to overcome some of life’s most difficult challenges. My interest in mental health peaked after college, when I worked with a therapeutic recreational program for children. Witnessing others find and develop their own strengths, I saw how empowering this can be, motivating me to continue to be an agent for change.

Reaching out for help can be difficult. It’s even harder when you feel like you don’t have anyone to turn to. You may feel unsatisfied in your relationships, or you may be dealing with depression or anxiety, or maybe you’re processing loss or trauma. You may be pregnant, or postpartum, and feel the need to address some of these issues that you haven't tended to yet. Take a pause to acknowledge that you’ve made a big leap to make it to this point, and remember that you are not alone. It would be my privilege to partner with you in your healing process and discover how together we can overcome these challenges.

Whether it's a life transition, peer/relationship struggles, depression , worsening anxiety, or suicidal thoughts, you don't deserve to face it alone.
In a time where our world is constantly changing, it can feel hard to keep up and maintain control. I am a firm believer that our mental health has a large impact on how we feel about ourselves and the world around us. Finding someone you trust to discuss how you feel is the first step in regaining control of not only your health, but your happiness, too.

I have experience working with individuals working through many issues such as anxiety, depression , trauma-related issues, etc.
Some often say we should stay active to maintain our physical health. I believe therapy is a way of getting active in maintaining positive mental health. We all endure many struggles in our lives and seeking help is the first step to overcome those burdens. I believe that therapy is not a one size fits all approach and believe in providing a warm, comfortable, and nonjudgmental space while developing a strong rapport with each client. In order to make the healing process most rewarding, I believe that displaying empathy and offering strategies are key along with understanding each client’s background, history, thoughts, and values.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
