As a bilingual (Spanish/English) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist I work with Individuals, Couples and Families who are ready to face these challenges and start working towards change. My goal is to provide my client's with a safe, non-judgmental environment where they can explore new solutions and gain the tools to deal with Family Conflict, Marriage/Couple Conflict, Parent-Child Issues, Grief/Loss, Emotional Distress, Anxiety/Depression/Anger, Self-Esteem, Life Transitions, Substance Abuse/Recovery, and others.

As a trauma-informed (PCTI) therapist, I am heavily influenced by Viktor Frankl, a Nazi Concentration Camp Survivor, psychiatrist, and founder of Logotherapy. Logotherapy is anchored in the belief that a person’s primary motivational force is to find a sense of meaning or purpose in one's life—but the lack thereof, leaves the individual experiencing meaninglessness and may spiral downward into anxiety, depression, substance use, PTSD, and other mental health issues. With 12 years of experience and certifications in various modalities, together, our work will refocus you and your life and invigorate it with purpose and meaning.

Greetings! My name is Shantreirra Monroe “Shan” and I am pleased to introduce myself. I am a licensed psychotherapist with over 15 years of experience providing counseling and supportive services. I have skills in utilizing a variety of tools to help children and adults move beyond obstacles, so they can grow and thrive. I understand that life has a way of hitting us with curve balls, beach balls and occasionally hammers. I use a wide range of clinical skills to effectively explore and help clients navigate tough times.

Life is a journey and sometimes adjusting to changes and challenges in our lives can be overwhelming. Sometimes we just need a listening ear, a safe place to be heard and to be given the support needed for that moment and beyond. My role as your counselor is to help you build connections within yourself and others around you. By allowing you the opportunity to be heard, I create an atmosphere for a safe environment with a non-judgemental space. I approach therapy in a direct way to challenge clients to meet their potential and meet their goals. I promote honesty for yourself to create open communication and direction to change.

Utilizing a systemic perspective to provide an empathetic, non-judgmental, and active approach to therapy, you can redefine the narrative. As a clinician, I help each client expand on their self-awareness and draw on their strengths to promote healing, positive change and empowerment. I believe in assisting each client author their preferred life story that embodies well-being while creating opportunities of self-expression via an integrative approach to therapy.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 23 years of experience in the field. In my practice I assist my clients with resolving and healing issues which are preventing them from living their best life. Issues may vary from childhood traumas and life-long patterns, to recent life changes causing distress. Throughout my career I have worked with individuals presenting with depression, anxiety, self-limiting/self-sabotaging patterns, and relationship issues to name a few. I am a trauma-focused clinician trained in EMDR.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Florida with over 20 years of experience working as a psychotherapist and life coach. I have experience conducting individual and group therapy, in-office and both residential and outpatient settings with clients presenting with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, relationship and parenting issues, teen concerns, LGBT, and a wide range of challenges including grief/loss, insomnia, addiction, trauma, abuse, bipolar, as well as personal growth, adjustment issues, and crisis. My Counseling style is warm, compassionate and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect.

I am here to help remove the stigma of mental health counseling in the Brown, Black and Red communities. My passion is assisting clients gain self-acceptance, sustain intimate relationships and regain confidence. There is a special place in my heart for adolescents, specifically in the LGBTQ community. I am also passionate about people finding love. I have created a dating course that has been tested and proven affective with men and women.

I am a licensed psychologist with extensive training and experience in the treatment of adults, children and families. As part of the South Florida DBT Consortium, I am a certified DBT- Linehan Board Clinician. Additionally, my group practice is a Linehan Board Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy Program and provides individual and group therapy to children, adolescents, adults and parents. My credentials include a doctoral degree from Rutgers University and two masters degrees in psychology from Columbia University. I also have extensive postdoctoral training and expertise in the treatment of children & families.

I believe that everyone has the right to live the life they imagine for themselves. Each of us has a right to feel safe, respected, protected and loved. I have been a psychotherapist for the past twenty years. I chose this profession because I wanted to continue to grow and explore life to its fullest in a work environment that generates positivity. I have worked extensively with the HIV/AIDS community, engaged in comprehensive therapy with sexual abuse and trauma clients, along with a focus on work/life balance concerns. I focus on the client’s strengths, and goals, and explore one's thoughts, past experiences, and belief systems.
