My work integrates: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing ( EMDR) therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, and Trauma Focused CBT.
I enjoy working with clients who are ready to become an active participant in their own healing journey— who are open, curious, and willing to explore new ways of thinking and being. This individual may be experiencing challenges such as depression, anxiety, struggles with relationship issues, or navigating major life transitions. Despite the pain or uncertainty they may feel, they share a deep desire to heal their mind and body and work toward becoming the best version of themselves. This person understands that true growth requires courage and commitment. They are ready to show up fully—being honest, reflective, and vulnerable.

My areas of specialty include Solution-Focused Based, Cognitive-Behavioral, Trauma-Focused, Rational-Emotive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Psycho-Education, and Motivational Interviewing.
There is never a one-size fits all concerning specific clients. Each client has their share of various life experiences. Being able to support my clients through careful listening is a key element to building a strong rapport, which is essential to the therapeutic process. And ultimately, providing the appropriate treatment plan tailored to their needs and goals is also essential to the recovery and healing processes.

I blend Existential and Multicultural frameworks with evidence-based tools like EMDR, IFS, and the Gottman Method (for couples who want more than clichés).
I’m the kind of therapist who will roast you on the couch and leave you feeling grateful for it. That means I’ll be warm, compassionate, and deeply invested in your healing—but I won’t hesitate to call you in when it’s time to grow. I believe therapy should be a place where you're not just seen and heard—but also challenged, supported, and reminded of the power you already have. My role isn’t to fix you (you’re not broken), and it’s not to sugarcoat things either. I’m here to help you face the hard stuff with honesty, courage, and a little humor along the way.

I use IFS/parts work, narrative therapy, somatic approaches, EMDR, CBT, EFT, and psychodynamic perspectives in my work with clients.
My overall approach to therapy involves the belief that all behaviors, thoughts, and feelings make sense within the context of our lives. At times though, the things that once helped us cope with our circumstances no longer serve their purpose, but the thought of letting go or healing can feel overwhelming, or even impossible.

My passion is to help those who are feeling stuck. Perhaps you are trying to get out of an abusive relationship, or maybe just got out of one. Maybe you have experienced childhood traumas with your family, friends, or peers. Or, maybe you have daily stress you need to work through. Regardless of what it is, I enjoy working with those going through racing thoughts, anxiety, depression, panic worry and helping them learn to relax their nervous system.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
