My approach is to help individuals foster and discover their best selves. Together, we will address how to cope with stressors in everyday life in a judgment-free space. We will work on processing, adapting, or improving during life transitions. Therapy is a space that can bring forth a variety of personal successes when working in a goal-oriented environment. I am devoted to helping individuals develop the tools they feel they need to succeed.

I have worked with people from all socio-cultural-economic demographics. My work focuses on helping client's identify patterns in their lives which do not serve them positively. Emotional, intellectual, psychological and behavioral habits develop in childhood. We are often unaware of how these habits affect our decisions and overall ability to choose constructively. I will help to explore and modify thoughts, feelings and behaviors which challenge a happy, healthy lifestyle.

Ever since I was an adolescent, I knew that one of my life purposes & passion was to do something in the psychological realm. Making a positive impact in someone's life & helping them flourish into their best self is one of the most rewarding feelings. My own life path has been filled with challenges that I had to overcome from a young age & on my path of self healing, I realized that the therapeutic world was missing so much of what I needed & only a rare few "understood me." That is when I made the promise to myself to give to others what I witnessed was missing & to be open to sharing my own insight, education and research.

I perceive psychotherapy as a process of teamwork, sharing of power, and ensuring that clients have a sense of hope. There is no single way to live one's life and, as a clinician, I respect when my patients believe they are sufficiently on track. I also offer comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations. These evaluations are commonly used to detect dementia, adult ADHD, learning disorders, and is used to support diagnosis such as Alzheimer's disease and Traumatic Brain Injury. At my practice, we offer comprehensive, personalized programs to help you build a stronger future and sustain it.

Many people learn early to prioritize other people's needs, manage other people's feelings, and disconnect from their own inner voice. Over time, that can look like people-pleasing, guilt, burnout, shame, or difficulty knowing what you truly need. Healing often begins by rebuilding trust with yourself — learning to honor your needs, use your voice, and create relationships rooted in authenticity and accountability.

Choosing to engage in therapy, in a way, means choosing yourself. It is not always easy to believe we can feel better, or even just feel different. Sometimes it’s not easy to accept how we feel is perfectly normal and okay. You’ve learned so much on your journey, I hope to help you see how much you already have and help you on your journey forward, even if that feels really messy or impossible at times. I strive to provide a confidential and accepting space where you can explore how you got here and figure out where you want to go.

Have you ever wondered what makes for a fulfilling life? I believe it can be condensed down to two things–mental well-being & relational satisfaction. If our mind is at peace and we have satisfying and rewarding relationships, we tend to feel great! Mental well-being is about living life in accordance with your values. When your values and your actions don’t align, we often see psychological distress. This, along with the seemingly relentless pressure to present our best selves 100% of the time can lead to symptoms of anxiety/depression. Sometimes we need a little TLC. A space to slow down, be introspective, and discuss challenges.

You might be feeling anxious lately, without knowing the cause, and this anxiety is making you feel isolated and alone. Or perhaps it's harder to muster up the energy for life, - you feel heavy or irritable and the things you used to do with ease are now drudgery. You're not sure why. Confused and lost in a maze of difficult emotions, you don't know what to do. You know that there is more to yourself and your life if you can just change the way you are feeling, but you don't know how.

Many of us carry wounds, some visible, many unseen, that quietly shape how we think, feel, and relate to others. You may find yourself feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck in patterns you don’t fully understand, or simply tired of holding everything together on your own. At SFAC we create a space where you can begin to unpack those experiences safely and without judgment. Whether you are navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, or the impact of past experiences, we help you make sense of your inner world, regulate emotional responses, and build healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.

You keep telling yourself you'll stop. The drinking, the shutting down, the pulling away from people who matter. But willpower hasn't worked, and you're starting to wonder if something is just broken in you. It isn't. What looks like a bad habit or a character flaw is usually something much older. A pattern that started as a way to survive pain you didn't know how to carry. The substance, the emotional walls, the relationship cycles you can't seem to exit. These made sense once. Now they're costing you things you can't afford to keep losing.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
