I utilize compassionate focusing, somatic exercises, bilateral stimulation, brainspotting and guided imagery to create a "home" within yourself free of emotional clutter.
Welcome! Growing up with narcissistic parents, we become creative at finding ways to avoid their criticism, rejection or abandonment. These solutions often become our symptoms in adult life. Maybe you feel anxious, don’t know what you need, what you feel or who you are. Maybe you have a relentless inner critic, self-doubt or rumination on the past or future. Maybe you find yourself constantly busy, unable to rest. Maybe you can't stop taking care of others at your own detriment. Maybe you feel guilty asserting yourself, fear being alone, or fear getting close to others. Maybe you lie or manipulate to get your needs met.

Do you ever feel like different parts of you are at odds? Maybe one part of you wants to move forward and another part keeps pulling you back. The inner conflict may cause you to feel like you're being too much, but you're not. You're just made up of many incredible parts. We all are! Trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS), I help clients connect to their "parts" such as the inner critics, overachievers, people-pleasers, and even that part that just wants to stay in bed and scroll.

I specialize in helping adults with PTSD and trauma, complex PTSD, and Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) through relational, body-based, and emotion-focused psychotherapies including Accelerated-Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Brainspotting/Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) when appropriate.
Do you feel on edge, numb, or disconnected, as if your body is stuck in fight, flight, or freeze? Do memories or emotions from your past still spill into the present? Does your body still hold onto shame, guilt, or fear related to previous experiences? You are not broken — these are your nervous system’s best adaptive efforts to survive painful and overwhelming experiences.
In therapy, we’ll help your body learn to feel safe, process emotions and memories at your own pace, and cultivate new ways of relating to yourself and your parts, emotions, and past experiences with curiosity, compassion, and groundedness.

My approaches include EMDR, brainspotting, psychedelic work, parts work, and nature therapy.
As someone who’s recovered from PTSD myself, I know healing is possible. I’ve found that shifting how we relate to triggers can make a big difference. Instead of avoiding them, I see triggers as messengers. An invitation to explore what’s going on beneath the surface. Our symptoms are a form of communication; they’re intelligent and show up for a reason. When we listen with curiosity, they can guide us toward the root of our suffering.

I use EMDR and Brainspotting to help people heal from trauma and anxiety and experience meaningful emotional change.
I've spent decades helping people understand what's meaningful to them. As a trauma therapist, former TV news reporter, and mother, I've always been curious about the experiences, patterns, and strengths that shape who we become. I use both practical and insight-oriented approaches to help clients better understand themselves and create meaningful change.

How does brainspotting work?
Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.
Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?
Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.
How effective is brainspotting?
Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.
How long does brainspotting take to work?
A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
