Therapy should provide a safe, nonjudgmental relationship through which to explore those parts of you that may make you feel ashamed or afraid, to develop meaningful insights, and to discover your strengths. I have extensive experience working with people seeking to overcome traumatic life events - sexual violations, abuse, neglect, extreme acts of violence - but have found that, in the end, it can sometimes be the seemingly small, overlooked wounds that take longest to heal. No matter how stuck and hopeless you may feel, you have the power to take control and embrace the person you'd like to be.

I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families. I try to offer affordable mental health counseling, because I believe that therapy should be accessible to all who need it. I also offer art therapy, play therapy, and life coaching. I want to help you to feel better--and help you to achieve the goals that matter to you. If you want, you can try a phone or online session (so you can do therapy from the comfort of home). I really look forward to working with you. At times, therapy takes effort, but it's rewarding to see the results!

In life we frequently encounter obstacles between where we are and what we want to achieve. These obstacles can manifest in the form of depression, anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem issues, or unresolved trauma. Gaining a better understanding of who we are is an important step in creating a sense of personal fulfillment in all aspects of our lives. I work with individuals to gain insight into the influence of not only past events, but also current patterns of beliefs, with a goal of reconciling past hurts, healing past trauma, and breaking the cycle of unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, and reactions.

When working with pregnant/postpartum people and partners, I aim to support you as you navigate all of the emotions and changes that come with pregnancy, birth, and becoming a parent, as well as challenges related to infertility and pregnancy or birth trauma.
The decision to start therapy takes courage. Often the idea of talking about personal thoughts and emotions can be anxiety-inducing. As an art therapist and mental health counselor, my goal is to provide a safe space to explore emotions through both verbal and creative processes. I apply art therapy and counseling techniques to increase self-awareness, reduce stress, and encourage healthy expression. I am dedicated to providing inclusive services to clients of all identities, including individuals from the LGBTQ+ community and diverse backgrounds, and strive to provide meaningful and affirming services for everyone I work with.

Dating and relationships can feel overwhelming, especially after a breakup, divorce, or major life transition. You’re juggling so many things – from heartbreak to financial stress to judgment from others. You’re left questioning your worth, wondering if you’ll ever feel secure in love. What you want is to feel safe, valued, and able to show up authentically in relationships that honor who you are. Whether you’re navigating dating, rebuilding after loss, or exploring alternative relationship structures, you don’t have to do it alone.

One of the most impactful concepts I’ve embraced is the importance of being curious rather than judgmental. This mindset not only shapes the way we relate to others but also transforms how we engage with ourselves—with greater grace, understanding, and vulnerability. As a Christian, I hold the conviction that our spiritual beliefs profoundly influence every aspect of our lives. By combining a Christian worldview with evidence-based clinical practices, I strive to offer care that is both spiritually grounded and clinically effective

Infertility and postpartum mental health is not talked about enough.
As a mother of 3 and someone who personally struggled with Depression, OCD and Anxiety postpartum, my ideal client would be a mother struggling with any type of mood disorder either during pregnancy or postpartum. Or perhaps a woman who is grieving a miscarriage/pregnancy loss. They would be seeking support to help feel seen and heard in their struggles but also to gain effective coping tools and techniques to better manage their symptoms. Their goals might be to learn how to balance stressors better or start to dive into processing hurts and begin healing. Learning self love and self compassion are also areas I value in therapy.

How can infertility affect couples and their relationship?
Clients who are dealing with infertility may experience conflict and communication problems. It’s not unusual for shame, blame, and guilt to arise in cases of infertility, whether the source of the problem is one partner or both. This means that clients are upset and pulling away from their partner just when they need them the most. Some clients may find it difficult to spend time around friends and family who are pregnant. Friends and family can also make hurtful comments that increase tension during this time.

How does therapy for infertility issues work?
The therapist will begin by gathering information about the client or couple and make a treatment plan for their specific concerns. In addition to addressing common mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma reactions or PTSD, therapists can help clients improve their decision-making and deal with stressors unique to infertility. Some examples include coping with the “two-week wait” before a pregnancy test, the distress associated with a failed attempt or miscarriage, and the shame and blame sometimes associated with reproductive concerns.

What type of therapy is best for infertility issues?
Many therapists offer psychotherapy for individuals and couples who are dealing with infertility issues. Some helpful therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which can aid clients in reframing negative thoughts about their situation. Expressive writing and art therapy can help clients process difficult feelings. Clients might also benefit from group therapy to experience support from others who are dealing with the same problems.

How long does therapy for infertility issues take?
There is no set length for therapy that addresses infertility or reproductive concerns. Some clients might find it helpful to continue therapy during their pregnancy to have healthy ways to cope with any associated stress, anxiety, depression, or trauma. Some clients who decide not to pursue fertility treatments might benefit from the support of a therapist. The duration of therapy varies depending on the individual client’s specific needs and goals.
