I have earned my Masters in Social Work from Rhode Island College, as well as Bachelors from URI in Human Development and Family Studies, and Associates in Applied Science. Hello and welcome! Thank you for starting your healing journey! I have clinical experience working with clients of all ages, but primarily I have had the most experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. For couples therapy, I am Level 1 Gottman and Prepare/Enrich certified. I also have experience caring for people who live with anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, loss/grief, LGBTQ+ issues, and dual diagnosis. Additionally, I help clients with family and relationship conflicts, gender/sexuality concerns, self-esteem, coping skills, interpersonal skills and relationships, trauma, adjustment disorders, and more.

Cristy Clark is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and has been in the mental health field for over 15 years. She received her Master of Arts in Counseling from Webster University and then she received a post-master’s degree, Specialist in Education, from Barry University with a concentration in Marriage and Family Counseling. Cristy has experience and training in a variety of therapeutic approaches; such as Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, and Strength Based approaches as well as Trauma Informed Care.

Most sessions are treatment oriented using a cognitive behavior approach, however I also do a lot of work with adults abused as children. I work with many dually diagnosed clients -substance abuse and mentally ill . Referrals are made to Dr. Bennett McAllister if medications are deemed a possibility. He also uses TMS treatments for depression. I also see a lot of clients with posttraumatic stress disorder and complicated trauma experiences.
