Are you dealing with overwhelming or racing thoughts, low self-esteem, sadness, relational issues with a loved one or spouse, or adjusting to new life changes
When working with a therapist, in terms of your relationship, it is important to have a therapist with the education and knowledge base to help bridge families and couples together. My goal is to help teach families and couples the tools needed to be able to navigate difficult times and help build stronger foundations for your relationships.

You are feeling like you have lost control over your life. You look around and it seems as if your choices are being made for you. When you try to go after what you want, you feel defeated before you can even take the first step. It does not have to be this way.

I work with teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and relationship challenges.
You might be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in patterns that don’t feel like you, or trying to hold everything together while feeling disconnected inside. Life transitions, stress, or past experiences can make it hard to feel grounded or clear about what you need. You don’t have to do this alone. I provide a supportive space where you can explore what’s going on beneath the surface and begin moving toward greater clarity, confidence, and emotional balance.

EMDR therapy is my main specialty, but I also work with adolescents and adults who are struggling with addiction, life transitions, relationship issues, and a multitude of other concerns.
Having the willingness to bring yourself into the counseling room and sharing your deepest hurts with a stranger can be extremely difficult. Coming in with the openness and desire to get better without knowing how it is all going to work takes a lot of courage. A desire to get better is where it starts, the next step is showing up and allowing yourself to be vulnerable. I know it's scary, but you won't be walking this road alone. My job is to stand alongside you and help guide the steps to healing.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
