My name is Irisdomar Santiago and I'm a bilingual (Spanish/ English) Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I often see clients who are experiencing pain and suffering through different aspects of life. Understanding difficult situations or changes in life can be stressful and definitely you can be accompanied in this process. Please know that you are not alone. Starting a therapeutic process can be the hardest decision but knowing that probably can be the bravest one. I believe that we all can be able to make changes that can help us grow in understanding, self-compassion, and fulfillment.

Perhaps you are driven, accomplished and seem confident. But inside, still feel unworthy or afraid of being seen. Maybe you feel stuck in unfulfilling patterns? If you are navigating the pressure of demanding work or leadership, experiencing disconnection and hurt in your relationship, or just trying to manage these difficult and uncertain times, therapy can be a space to recalibrate and realign. I specialize in working with high-performing individuals and couples wanting more than temporary symptom relief. They want meaningful, lasting change. I tailor my approach to your goals, helping you access clarity and tools for change.

Parents of children with learning, developmental, or behavioral challenges often feel overwhelmed navigating school systems, scholarships, and supports. They want clarity, answers, and a trusted partner to guide them. My clients seek timely evaluations, practical recommendations, and coaching strategies that reduce stress at home and school. Their goal: to help their child thrive academically, emotionally, and socially with the right tools, advocacy, and supports in place.

No matter the challenges you face, always hold onto hope and continue seeking solutions. Remember, you’re not the problem — you simply have a problem that can be overcome. Misunderstandings, irrational beliefs and self-defeating thoughts can lead to stress, anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and relationship difficulties. But keep in mind, problems don't resolve themselves, they need attention and action to heal. As a Certified Marriage & Family Therapist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I offer compassionate, open-minded, non-judgmental counseling in a safe, supportive space to help you explore and overcome life’s struggles.

I get it. It’s midnight and you’re here—searching for help, trying to make sense of the pain and silence you’ve carried for far too long. Whether you're a woman in uniform, a mother navigating life post-incarceration, or both—your story is real. As a woman who served in both the military and federal law enforcement, I understand what it means to survive in systems built to break you. I also know the pain of having no one to turn to who truly understands. You’ve carried the guilt, the grief, the trauma—and still, you rise. But you shouldn’t have to rise alone.

I have been fortunate to have the majority of my referrals come through friends or family of prior clients. The passion I felt when entering the field of counseling 20 years ago, seems even greater today. More individuals and couples are genuinely motivated to seek deeper levels of understanding and self-awareness. Most behavior and thought patterns are learned early in our development. Many suffer due to repeated behavior and choices, involving friends, family, and relationships. Change in the choices we make, often results in positively altering the way we feel, perceive, and live life. Authentic change begins within oneself.

Couples! How did things get this bad? There was a time when you both could talk about anything. You connected so profoundly that the thought of having trouble communicating was laughable. But things have changed, and you're at an impasse. Now, every attempt at communication about what matters most leads to useless fighting or icy silences. When you’re together, you still feel desperately alone. You don’t recognize the person your partner has become. Even worse, you don’t like who this relationship has made you become. You aren’t ready to give up, but you know that things can't continue like this. You’re ready for help.

I have always been drawn to spaces that feel creative, comforting, and real—while still grounded in solid clinical training. After years of learning the "why" behind what helps people heal, I set out to create a space that blends that knowledge with a refreshing, down-to-earth approach. Because let’s be honest—deciding to sit down and unpack your struggles with someone is already hard enough. I believe therapy doesn’t have to feel like a chore or a cold clinical experience. Instead, it can be natural, even enjoyable. A place where heavy conversations are held with care, and a little levity is welcome.

Cognitive Processing (CPT) Therapists
How does cognitive processing therapy work?
A CPT therapist helps a client evaluate their thoughts about the trauma they experienced, focusing on maladaptive or self-blaming thoughts that can exacerbate symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, or depression. The therapist will work with a client to help them learn to challenge such thoughts and consider different perspectives. The therapist is also likely to ask a client to work on these techniques at home between meetings, such as writing an account of their trauma that can be read aloud during a future session.

What is cognitive processing therapy for PTSD?
Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) is a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy primarily used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to treat individuals who experienced abuse or violence, who survived natural disasters, who were first responders to such incidents, or who otherwise experienced trauma.

How long does cognitive processing therapy last?
CPT is a short-term therapy. Whether conducted one-on-one or in a group, a complete set of CPT sessions typically includes 12 weekly sessions, along with tasks for clients to complete at home, although this can vary depending on a client’s needs or a therapist’s particular treatment plan. Sessions typically last 60 or 90 minutes.

How effective is cognitive processing therapy?
A large body of research supports the use of CPT to treat people experiencing PTSD, finding it to be effective among different age groups, either in one-on-one therapy sessions or in a group therapy environment. Research suggests that although the initial sessions may be difficult, clients tend to begin to feel positive progress after the first few sessions, and that the benefits tend to last well after the therapy ends.
