My approach draws from CBT, DBT, and ACT - but what that really means is that therapy with me is shaped around you.
You might be an adult who wakes up anxious and can't explain why, a young woman facing fertility struggles or a painful divorce, or a parent watching your teenager withdraw and not knowing how to help. Maybe you've been pushing through for a long time and you're finally ready to stop just surviving. My clients are adolescents, young adults, and adults who are tired of feeling stuck - people who are ready to do something different and just need the right support to get there. Together, we work toward emotional steadiness, clearer thinking, and a life that feels more like yours again.

I blend evidence-based therapies like CBT, DBT, ACT, and solution-focused work with a trauma-informed, person-centered approach.
Finding the right therapist is an important part of the process. The connection you feel matters. One way to know if someone is the right fit is to pay attention to how you feel when you talk with them. Those reactions often offer valuable information. As my own therapist once told me, “Feelings are information.” Therapy can be a powerful and transformative experience for anyone willing to show up for themselves. If you’re here, something in your life is asking for attention or change, and that’s not by accident.

My approach blends ABA with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT) and uses a child led, relationship first style that incorporates play, art, creativity, and nature based experiences.
If traditional behavior strategies have not worked for your child, you are not alone. Some children experience everyday expectations as overwhelming demands, and compliance focused approaches can make things harder instead of better. I support caregivers in understanding these patterns and responding in ways that protect connection, regulation, and learning. Some families I work with are homeschooling or exploring alternative learning paths while trying to better understand their child’s needs. I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over ten years of experience supporting children and families.

You’re a teen or adult who looks capable on the outside but feels overwhelmed inside. Maybe you live with anxiety, trauma, ADHD, or autism and struggle with overthinking, emotional intensity, burnout, or feeling different. You may feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, constantly “on edge,” or exhausted from masking and trying to meet everyone else’s expectations. You want relief from stress, healthier relationships, stronger emotional regulation, and a clearer sense of who you are—without feeling judged, dismissed, or misunderstood.

I emphasize authenticity, empathy, and unconditional acceptance as the foundation for meaningful change.
Life involves obstacles and challenges that range from minor to seemingly insurmountable. At times, our outlook and habits make matters worse and lead us to deeply question our identity, damage relationships, and derail our efforts to live full and rewarding lives. Nonetheless, no matter how heavy the burden, I truly believe that we can thrive if given the opportunity and the right support. This is where I can help you. We will work to establish a sense of resourcefulness while nurturing a relationship that empowers you to break unhealthy patterns and explore new possibilities.

Do you want to create the life that fits your dreams? Sometimes we lose our sense of direction as we deal with the obstacles that life presents. I will help you discover the place inside you that is wise and whole. Then you can gain clarity, motivation and take the action to change. This process sometimes happens quickly, but more likely you will need time to explore choices and try out new behaviors. Initially, you may not feel comgortable with a new behavior. It is like trying on a new outfit in a store. Some clothes fit perfectly and others may have to go back on the rack. This is a thrilling process leading to growth.

Many of the teen girls and young women I work with feel this way while trying to keep it all together. You may struggle with anxiety, confidence, setting boundaries, people pleasing, your relationships, or your relationship with food and your body. I blend real-life and clinical tools using CBT, ACT, attachment-based work, and family-systems awareness.
My ideal client is someone who feels stuck in overthinking, guilt, and relationship stress. You may struggle with boundaries, people-pleasing, or always being the reliable one. You might be in a confusing or unhealthy dynamic with a partner or family member. Your goals: calm, clarity, self-trust, and steadier relationships. If you want to stop spiraling, stop second-guessing, and stop carrying everyone else’s emotions, to feel safe to be honest, stop feeling “bad” for having needs, and finally make choices that feel right for you, I am your person.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
