I have experience working with individuals navigating trauma, substance use, life transitions, relationship challenges, and patterns that no longer feel aligned with who they want to be.
I integrate evidence-based practices to help you build practical tools while also exploring the deeper roots of your experiences. In addition to my clinical work, I’ve led treatment programs in both residential and outpatient settings, which has strengthened my ability to support clients with complex needs and a wide range of experiences.

Through skills training you can learn to find balance in your life, and with EMDR you can heal from trauma and attachment wounds that may be a source of confusion, conflict and pain.
Relationship difficulties, intense emotions, anxiety, stress and depression - these are issues that many face each day. If you are struggling, know that you are not alone and that you are stronger and wiser than you likely feel. Pain is inevitable in life, but we can learn from our experiences, adapt and create a life that is more peaceful and enjoyable. I want to provide a safe space for you to talk about your current and past experiences, to express the thoughts and feelings you are struggling with and to feel inspired and empowered to continue working on yourself and improving your life.

I believe in working with both the "fruit issues" or the problems as they are currently manifesting AND getting to the "root" of these issues, which often lie in childhood traumas and wounding experiences.
Did you know that both anxiety and depression are caused by unprocessed emotions? To keep from being overwhelmed by them, we naturally suppress emotions when we do not feel supported enough to face them. The problem is, this genius coping mechanism becomes a pattern that we do not know how to escape and we are left numb, suffering in a life that is bleak, absent of vitality, and so far from all we had imagined it would be. But you know there is more. You see it in the people around you and you want it for yourself. You want to feel the lows AND highs, to see the vibrant color in the world around you, to be your authentic self.

I love working with adults who are struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, panic disorder, Post Traumatic Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder.
Hello, my name is Jacob Price, LMHC. I've been licensed in the state of Florida since 2013 and running a solo private practice since 2017. It's my belief that the most important part of therapy is the relationship between the therapist and client. Opening up in therapy can feel vulnerable and scary at first so it's important that the environment is one where the client feels understood and not judged. When a person is able to clearly express themselves and process how they feel in a supportive environment, they have more clarity in understanding themselves and their life circumstances.

Throughout my career, I have assisted individuals of various age groups and families who have encountered difficulty related to Neurodivergent complexities, trauma, Obsessive Compulsion Disorder, ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, and more.
Together we will collaborate and identify the core concerns and behaviors that you would like to see change. We would then schedule a follow up for the second session that would involve you and I collectively creating goals and objectives that you would like to work towards.

Change is hard, transitions can feel overwhelming, and healing from past trauma takes courage.
I have been blessed with a heart for serving others. For the past 15 years, I have worked in various roles with children of all ages. While working at a youth residential shelter, I saw firsthand the number of children involved in the juvenile justice system and the growing need for mental health services. For the last eight years, I have worked as a Registered Behavior Therapist, providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder. Currently, I work as a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, helping people of all ages navigate life’s challenges.

Trauma, whether recent or long past, can fragment our inner system and keep the nervous system stuck in survival mode.
As a counselor informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Polyvagal Theory, I help clients reconnect to their inner Self. Using process-oriented, somatically focused EMDR, we work directly with the body’s wisdom to help release old survival patterns so you can respond to life with more balance and less reactivity.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
