I have special interest in supporting women and families who are dealing with pregnancy or infant loss - a profoundly painful and isolating experience which brings a grief that feels impossible to put into words.
I help people who feel overwhelmed by the mental load of life — the planners, the caregivers, the high-functioning adults who look like they have it all together on the surface, but feel anxious or exhausted underneath. Whether you’re navigating grief, burnout, parenting stress, relationship challenges, or a major life transition, you deserve a space where you don’t have to hold everything by yourself. I also work with adults diagnosed with ADHD later in life who are learning to understand their brains with more compassion instead of criticism.

Having worked in healthcare for 15 years, I have a vast array of experience counseling patients, families, and medical professionals.
My heart is to serve those struggling with depression, anxiety and OCD. Having a desire to address these issues takes a lot of courage. Researching a therapist already speaks volumes of your resolve. My goal is to highlight strengths already present and work with clients to access these more readily. If your goal is to live a more fully engaging life, despite it's challenges and curveballs, I'm the therapist for you.

For each child and family, I use a very individualized approach.
Currently accepting new clients. You may feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, OCD, trauma, anger, ADHD, grief, or self-doubt — reacting quickly, struggling to focus, or feeling disconnected from your confidence and sense of control. Many clients come in exhausted from repeating the same patterns and unsure how to move forward. I work with individuals across Dripping Springs and Hays County who want practical support and meaningful, lasting change.

Many of the struggles I see stem from unresolved past experiences or family patterns, which can lead to buried feelings, fear of abandonment, people-pleasing, and difficulties in relationships.
Hello! I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and owner of Blue Angel Counseling. Before becoming a therapist, I served 20 years in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. Today, I bring that same dedication and sense of service to my work with clients. For over 15 years, I’ve helped people navigate challenges like anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship struggles, and career transitions. My approach blends evidence-based methods—such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)—tailored to each person’s needs.

My core values are genuineness, compassion, integrity, and autonomy. It is very important to me to provide a warm, welcoming space. For newbies, it can be scary to deeply open up to a stranger if they have never been to therapy. Others who have worked with therapists before might be reluctant to start again after they used to have an amazing therapist or try again if they had previously been disappointed. While I cannot promise that you and I will be a perfect fit, if you have browsed my page and feel inclined to schedule or request a phone call, I can promise that I will always do my best, be transparent, and focused on YOUR needs.

FAQ - About Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
