Anxiety Therapists in Pensacola, FL
I enjoy working with people struggling with anxiety, grief, depression, past trauma, or relationships issues.
I think therapy works best when clients can be honest, straightforward and process without judgment. Together, we will set goals to create a road map for achieving what you want in therapy. I try to encourage vulnerability and will challenge clients to grow through learning new skills and practicing those skills in their daily lives.

I offer a warm, structured, and practical approach to therapy, specializing in anxiety, emotional regulation, and overwhelm in women and children.
My work is primarily with thoughtful, capable women, bright and deeply feeling children, and families who are doing their best but feel stuck. Many of my clients are used to being the strong one for others, but privately struggle with anxiety, stress, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, or major life transitions.
I'm someone who believes in the power of feeling seen, heard, and understood. I believe that therapy should feel like a real conversation where you can breathe, think, and be real, not a clinical checklist. I believe you deserve a space where you don't have to pretend, perform, or be "put together". Therapy with me is about helping you feel safe enough to be your real, unfiltered self. Together, we'll work through what you're carrying and build tools that feel realistic and fit your real life.

The majority of my experience over the last 16 years has been with couples and individuals, and this is where I find myself to be most successful and happen to find the most enjoyment. I find great satisfaction in seeing couples discover the ability to reconnect, communicate, and discover new ways to live in harmony again, whether this is in an actual couple session or individually.

I've been helping people rescue themselves from trauma, addiction, grief, despair and fear since 2015.
You lost something important to you and your world has never been the same. Maybe you know exactly what happened. Maybe it happened so long ago, you can't remember the details. Either way, you're haunted by the ghost of a better life. It always seems to be just out of reach. Something needs to change, you can feel it in your bones. But every time you start to move in the right direction, things fall apart. Sometimes you wonder if you're doomed to feel this miserable and broken for the rest of your life.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
