Therapy begins with a faith that you came by your struggles honestly in an effort to protect yourself and make sense of the world. My specialty is helping people recover from narcissistic abuse and other forms of abuse (emotional, spiritual, physical). I provide treatment for depression, anxiety, trauma, military family stressors and veteran transitions into the civilian sector. My hope is to provide you with an opportunity to disentangle from suffering and aide you in improving your quality of life, increase your satisfaction within the internal and external world, and enhance your self-worth.

I help people who feel overwhelmed by the mental load of life — the planners, the caregivers, the high-functioning adults who look like they have it all together on the surface, but feel anxious or exhausted underneath. Whether you’re navigating grief, burnout, parenting stress, relationship challenges, or a major life transition, you deserve a space where you don’t have to hold everything by yourself. I also work with adults diagnosed with ADHD later in life who are learning to understand their brains with more compassion instead of criticism.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is the most common modality used, but this can be tailored to each client's needs.
It is so hard to be a human sometimes, we get overwhelmed in our mind & body. There are so many factors; high achievers, life changes, purpose questioning, hormone changes, and the rapidly shifting world and events around us can all play a part in the exhausting feelings many people live with. These things can have a direct effect on your physical health, too! The brain and the body are connected, and they will let you know when things are not in sync. This can be confusing for some people, they get stuck and don't know how to move forward, increasing those distressing thoughts that are related to anxiety, depression, and trauma.

I have enjoyed providing support in mental health for over 20 years now. We all face moments of distress and experience unplanned circumstances in our lives that we simply are not prepared for. It can be difficult to navigate our way through all of the thoughts that may come up or the different levels of pain we tend to experience and I know that reaching out for help can be challenging. All have their own healing journeys and I am grateful to be able to help individuals with discovering their unique path to healing, growth and change.

Living with the weight of trauma, anxiety, burnout, or significant life changes can make even everyday tasks feel overwhelming. You might notice yourself caught in difficult thoughts, feeling stuck with no direction, or worrying about your relationships. No matter path led you here, there’s a space for you; a space that allows you to take a step back, reflect, and reconnect with yourself.

Feel guilty choosing yourself over others? Twist yourself into a pretzel to be liked and accepted? Exhausted from sleepless nights of overthinking what you said or did wrong? Worry about what others think of you? I help female people-pleasers and overachievers to gain a sense of wholeness that comes from within, get in control of their mood and anxiety, overcome phobias, and have more loving and connected relationships. I also help couples to break free from the painful cycle of arguing, misunderstanding and loneliness. A relationship is like a dance. In therapy, you and your partner will learn a new way to dance with each other.

Hello, I’m Dr. Rolanda Harris, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in AL and FL, and the owner of Intentional Counseling and Consulting, LLC. Many of the clients who come to my practice are used to being the person who “keeps it together” for everyone else. They may appear high-functioning, responsible, and capable, but internally they are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, anxious, disconnected, or uncertain about how to move forward. Some are navigating major life transitions, grief, chronic illness, caregiver stress, or relationship challenges. Others are college students or professionals struggling with life's pressures.

Hello, my name is Jacob Price, LMHC. I've been licensed in the state of Florida since 2013 and running a solo private practice since 2017. It's my belief that the most important part of therapy is the relationship between the therapist and client. Opening up in therapy can feel vulnerable and scary at first so it's important that the environment is one where the client feels understood and not judged. When a person is able to clearly express themselves and process how they feel in a supportive environment, they have more clarity in understanding themselves and their life circumstances.

You have read the books, listened to the podcasts, and maybe even done therapy before, yet something still feels off. You are smart and self-aware, but awareness hasn't brought peace. That is where the deeper work begins. I’m EMDR certified and a Level 3 Certified Therapist in Internal Family Systems (IFS), helping people heal patterns, not just talk about them. My clients are done with surface fixes; they want real freedom and clarity. Together we will work to help calm the inner noise, meet parts of you with compassion, curiosity, and clarity, and help you finally feel at home in your own mind and body.

Your mind is a racing machine that you can't seem to turn off! Scary and bothersome thoughts keep popping in your mind! You try to block them but they keep comping back. You can't be fully present or really enjoy yourself because they are so loud so often! Simple tasks now take forever because you battle the urge to check or repeat things over and over. You are embarrassed that people may think you're weird! But they just don't understand what it's like to think things you don't want to think and do things you know don't always make sense. You just want the thoughts and worries to stop so you can feel like yourself again.

I take a warm, collaborative approach, blending solution-focused, mindfulness, somatic, and acceptance-based therapies.
Stress, depression & anxiety- related to relationships, work, or major life changes- make it challenging to function with focus and joy. Maybe you’re feeling disconnected from yourself or stuck in patterns that aren’t working anymore. You need strategies that work in real life and support that helps you move forward with clarity, purpose, and confidence. I believe you already carry the insight and capacity for change—my role is to help you access it. I work best with clients who are ready to reclaim their energy, sharpen their focus, and feel more aligned with what actually matters to them. Let's talk!

To live a rich and meaningful life means to experience a wide variety of emotions, some of which are more desirable than others. Sometimes our life experiences can be so overwhelming that we find ourselves struggling just to get through the day. For some of us, mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, PTSD or substance abuse problems can make life difficult or even unmanageable. I believe that therapy is a place where people experiencing mental distress can process emotions, learn coping skills and work toward goals in a safe, non-judgmental and supportive environment.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
