My clients may be seeking support for issues related to relationships, grief & loss, work stress and deeper questions about life and their place in it. Others may be grappling with the aftermath of traumatic experiences, addictive behaviors or contending with anxiety, depression or anger issues. My clients are children, adolescents and adults, many of whom are new to therapy or have been in therapy multiple times to little avail. I am a Military Veteran who graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelors Degree in Criminology and I have a Masters Degree in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University. I am a State of Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a Masters Level Certified Addictions Professional, and a Department of Transportation (DOT) Substance Abuse Professional.

Marriage is a challenge. A beautiful challenge, but a challenge nonetheless. Money fights, personality differences, past wounds, unmet expectations, communication styles and conflict resolution are just a few of the major challenges married people are likely to face. Your marriage should be a source of refuge and strength, but too often it becomes a primary factor in anxiety, depression or fatigue. Just as the tires on a car can get out of alignment and drift in dangerous directions, so can a marriage. As a therapist, my goal is to help you and your spouse align your tires and get moving in the right direction.

My goal is to help you resolve current problems and long-standing patterns that may interfere with God’s perfect plan for your life. For the Christian client, research shows that progress is made more rapidly and completely when both psychology and theology are integrated. Christian Convergence Therapy (CCT) integrates psychology and theology in a way that encourages personal development through sound Christian teachings (e.g., it tells us “what” to do) and psychological techniques in a cognitive and behavioral format (e.g., it tells us “how”) to achieve our spiritual and psychological goals.

I have a 20+ year background in providing counseling and psychotherapeutic services to integrated behavioral health patients of all ages, from the chronically mentally ill, self-esteem problems, relationship problems, spirituality concerns, identity issues, those who suffer from terminal medical illnesses, in addition to those battling severe chemical dependency problems. I also have experience in providing therapy for inmates as well, and I'm currently attending medical courses to develop learning along the the biochemical spectrum of clinical disorders for future psychiatric practice.

A sense of healing, empowerment, control, and newly found self-confidence are amongst the best feelings that we can experience in life. Stressors, trauma, toxicity, and confusion can take all of those things away from us. We are all capable of losing a sense of hope, meaning, and regulation. We can feel angry, sad, bitter, and lost and sometimes not know exactly why. I do believe everyone has the potential to conquer their demons and if you're in a position where you are ready for change and long term recovery then I would like to be there to support that feeling and offer guidance towards a better life.
