At some point in our lives, we all have some issue that can hold us back from living our best lives. My goal is to help you remove blocks that are keeping you stagnant and preventing you from thriving and achieving your dreams. In addition to working with clients with eating disorders, I enjoy working with clients struggling with with anxiety, trauma, depression, and work/life balance. A passion of mine is to assist clients in achieving whole body wellness, and I am committed to working with clients who have medical issues, such as cancer, autoimmune disorders, and chronic health issues.
All clients are ideal. Working with people and helping them through mental health issues is the nature of the work and there is no client that can not be worked with, unless they do not want to work on themselves. Life is a journey for learning. Broken can be something magical when you allow it to transform you into the the special person you were meant to be.
My practice is a psycho-spiritual one and reflects my passion: helping families flourish by creating happy, well-balanaced marriages, families, children, and adolescents. This includes blended families who have suffered loss or divorce. Having worked closely with courts for many years, I also provide forensic evaluations regarding custody and visitation issues, mediation, and post divorce management of child issues.
I specialize in helping women dealing with trauma, grief, cancer, or parenting challenges. You are like many of my clients if you find yourself being the go-to for friends and family, but struggle to lean on others. Or maybe even struggle to realize how much of your own pain you have been holding-alone. You have it together on the outside, but on the inside, you notice that your thoughts are sometimes overwhelming. When you get in touch with how you feel deep down, you notice sadness, numbness, or disconnection. You don’t have to stay disconnected from your relationships or feelings. Nor do you need to get consumed by them.
You want to appear successful & like you have it “all together” but deep down are struggling to feel confident in who you are or are coping with challenging experiences that have occurred in your life. You may be fed up with feeling out of control of yourself and your emotions, feeling like everything is your fault or feeling hopeless. You might not even remember a time when life wasn’t like this. But one thing is for sure: you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to confidently speak up for yourself. You’re ready to own your worth. Most of all, you’re ready to let go of needing to do everything perfectly all of the time.
In the broadest terms, my practice centers on the idea of helping you to establish or restore greater authenticity--a more authentic voice, space of desire and trajectory of drive/motivation. This can be addressed through more short-term approaches that focus primarily on the present, or a deeper approach that considers and works through past experiences as they inevitably impact the present in ways not always available to consciousness. By uncovering these occluded forces left over from the past and lingering in the present, you will be able to develop broader insight and live more fully with greater intention.

Let's face it, the struggle is real. Sometimes we can manage it by ourselves and sometimes we need some help and support. At the first session, we will review your history and current challenges, as well as what has worked previously and what hasn't. Therapeutic recommendations will be made and we will collectively create a game plan that works for your life in the here and now. I am committed to helping you identify where you are at with making those changes, what solutions are actually feasible and realistic, and what part of reality is best dealt with through acceptance.
Life is sometimes difficult and it is hard to gain perspective. Also, family and interpersonal relationships can be so complex and challenging. Are you or your child/family struggling? Would you benefit from compassionate professional support? Let me help you unpack your concerns, repair your relationship with yourself and others, remind you that you are enough and that you can be happy and whole.
Overthinking? You can't seem to quiet the thoughts in your head. You keep replaying different scenarios. You analyze what you could have done differently. Some days you can barely get out of bed. The guilt is eating you up inside. You feel isolated and lonely and it's hard to face anyone. You feel unsatisfied in your relationships. There is so much you need to get done but you feel stuck and unmotivated. You lie awake at night overthinking. You wake up feeling hopeless, unsure how you can through the day. If this is you, I know how you feel and I can help you get immediate relief.
I offer a warm, safe, and supportive environment that promotes personal growth. I will help you to develop insights into improving and deepening the understanding of your relationships, circumstances, and professional life. I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker, a certified Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with a masters degree from Columbia University and a doctoral degree from the University of Pennsylvania. These are just a few of the common reasons people seek out therapy. I work with individuals, couples and families to explore sources of conflict, provide emotional support and encourage the gradual changes that lead to a more fulfilling and balanced life.
Do you have a tendency to rescue and take responsibility for other people? Do you derive a sense of purpose through self-sacrifice to satisfy the needs of others? Some of our greatest wounds are the wounds of self-betrayal. I help adults and adolescents who want to heal from codependent conditioning.

Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought that you should be further along in life by now? As an Asian American, you feel unsatisfied with where you are currently at in life, but you don't know where you should be headed. You might even feel like you lack the confidence to pursue your dreams. Because of these struggles, you might also find it hard to connect with your loved ones.
You have always craved control over your life. Of course there are uncertainties but that is why you are always planning for the worst case scenario. You think of everything that can and probably will go wrong and try to figure out a way around these barriers. This constant analysis of potential threats makes it very hard to enjoy life. Others tell you to "just relax" as if it were that simple! You often find that even when you are doing absolutely everything "right," inevitably life throws you a curve ball and there you are stuck inside your head again, missing out on the very life you are trying so desperately hard to protect.
Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is ask for help! And I want to be there to offer encouragement and support as you seek change. Therapy is a great tool to help you identify and address the thoughts, feelings and behaviors that impact your daily life. When working with you, I will seek to provide insight, structure, and guidance in an environment where you can express your feelings, and grow towards healthy and positive goals. You will never regret taking this step towards the change you want to see in your life!
