Imagine a time when your home is peaceful and calm. Envision your child happily attending school and using newly learned coping skills to help themselves with anxiety. We can get there. Parents meet with me every single session. I believe parents are a vital part of the positive changes that happen during counseling.

My ideal client is someone who feels stuck between who they are and who they want to be. She might be battling anxiety or panic attacks, feeling burned out from work or entrepreneurship, or struggling to reconnect with herself after a major life shift. Sometimes she’s navigating life with a disability or chronic illness and needs space to process how that impacts her identity and goals. She’s self-aware and motivated but tired of feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of what’s next. What she really wants is clarity, peace of mind, and a sense of purpose again.

I am a great listener that likes to encourage digging deeper into the what's and why's that have caused trauma, anxiety, depression and mood disorders. I like to reflect on the biological, social and emotional states and how they can help heal. How do our life domains create anxiety and struggle? Together we can work and process those feelings associated with grief, loss, depression, and anxiety. Lets peel back the layers that are associated with general mood disorders, couples and marital issues, peer and self-esteem issues and start healing. I want to help others become the best version of themselves.

You often feel anxious, emotionally reactive, or unsure of yourself, especially in relationships. Your body responds before you can make sense of what’s happening, leaving you feeling “too sensitive,” on edge, or insecure with others. You may quietly wonder whether this is anxiety, trauma, or depression, and why it feels so hard to feel safe and settled in your body. You may have spent years trying to understand yourself, through analyzing, or even therapy, but something still doesn’t shift. In our work together, we’ll slow down the noise and get to the roots of what’s keeping you stuck, so you can feel like yourself again.

Are you ready to live your best life, but feel overwhelmed, stuck, and unsure how to manage your life, your relationships, and your emotions? Does life feel inauthentic and unbalanced? When life feels this way, it may seem like the whole world is collapsing around you. Remaining complacent won't change the situation. The first step is taking action to change things.

What makes a good virtual session is not just the technology, but also the art of creating a safe space between us.
Are you ready to make peace with your past? Perhaps you've recognized patterns in relationships, behaviors, or thoughts that are repeating. Maybe it feels like there's so much noise inside you can't seem to make sense of life outside. Are you feeling lonely or disconnected from your self? Balance is possible. Peace is possible. The kaleidoscope of your life can come back into view as we walk together and navigate your internal system with a sense of curiosity and compassion, bringing positive and lasting change. I operate from an integrative approach using a combination of practices.

Art Therapy
How does art therapy work?
The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?
Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?
The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?
Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
