My ideal client would be someone who is ready to change/process, willing to be uncomfortable throughout their journey, be comfortable with being confronted, and willing to apply work made in sessions to their everyday life to foster healing. In practice, I use an electric approach and encourage a healthy amount of autonomy with clients.

Who are my ideal clients?
My ideal clients are adults (18 and older) who are ready—maybe not perfectly ready, but willing—to look inward and make meaningful changes. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. In fact, most people don’t. What matters more is a sense of curiosity about yourself and a desire for something to feel different, better, or more aligned.
If you’ve ever caught yourself thinking, “Why do I keep doing this?” or “I know something needs to change, but I don’t know how,” you are exactly the kind of person I work best with. My clients tend to be thoughtful, insightful (even if they don’

You work hard. You make the “right” choices most of the time. You are building a career, a family, you are checking the boxes and yet… something still feels off. Life feels dull. Boring. You wake up, go through the motions, and wonder: Is this all there is?
If you’re a man who feels stuck or stagnant, you’re not broken and you’re not alone. Many men reach a point in life where the success they’ve worked for doesn’t translate into fulfillment. You might not be in crisis, but you feel disconnected. Unmotivated. Like you’ve lost your sense of purpose or direction.

I am currently accepting NEW clients! A lot of times guilt and shame get in the way of real human progress leading us stuck in a paradox of emotions we don't know how to deal with. Sometimes we experience these emotions at a heightened value where you feel out of control. Other times we push them down so severely that we forget what it's like to feel emotional at all. Whatever is troubling you, those emotions are valid and there is a healthy and sustainable way to honor each and every one of them. I believe there is something courageous in knowing when you need help and taking the steps to receive it.

We're all trying to get through life....and we weren't meant to navigate it alone. Sometimes we just need an ear, a shoulder, or someone to hold up the proverbial roadmap and walk alongside us to keep it moving forward. Life carries us through many seasons, often resulting in confusion, chaos, anxiety, depression, illness, grief, and traumatic events. Sometimes they happen as children and young adults, resulting in the stuff we carry into adulthood, having an enormous impact on the quality of our lives....our relationship with self and with others. The good news is...there's help! You don't have to suffer alone and in silence.

Alcohol Use Therapists
Are there specific medications for alcohol use?
There are oral medications approved to treat alcohol use disorder—such as disulfiram, acamprosate, and naltrexone, which also comes in an injectable form. These medications do help people reduce their drinking as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone helps reduce cravings, disulfiram can make a person feel sick when they drink, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.
How do alcohol recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other patients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals live at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff can also include people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other tools for recovery.
How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.
How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for alcohol use reduce the amount of alcohol they intake. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.
