You are either emotionally loaded or emotionally numb to your present circumstances because of your past experiences. The memory of these experiences trigger discomfort, isolation, or thoughts of regret, and you’re tired of being controlled by your past. You want to feel happy and show-up fully for your friends, family, and partner, but you just can’t seem to shake it off enough to be present.

The people I work with are basically emotionally healthy. But anxiety; self-doubt; and even anger are examples of what can undermine self-esteem and confidence in who we really are. The key to moving forward is identifying what undermines confidence and clarity in ourselves and our relationships - all of which depend on 1) confidence 2) strong self-esteem and 3) the ability to be emotionally available/honest and genuine.

Anxiety, depression, and/or low self-esteem are hurting your life. You don’t want to be around friends or family anymore. You’ve isolated or haven’t felt up to doing much. Sleeping (or lack of) has become an issue. Getting out of bed is a struggle and daily life isn’t as easy as it used to be. Your mind is racing with negative thoughts. You don’t feel quite like yourself and you’re feeling lost. You ask yourself, “Is this ever going to end? Will I ever get better?” You may feel helpless, but you’re not alone. I’ve been in your shoes before. I know that the pain you feel is *real*.

REMOTE VIDEO SESSIONS NOW AVAILABLE! Everyone thinks you are fine, but you go to work and no one can tell that you’re struggling inside. You feel depressed, anxious, worn down. All you want to do is sleep and shut out the world. The self-contempt, criticism, and doubt are real, and they are relentless. You want to reach out for help but feel guilty, even selfish. By putting everyone else at the top of your list, you’ve neglected and dishonored yourself. What you really want is to feel a sense of worth, like you belong, like you have something to contribute to this vast world.

It can be challenging to carry all the stress and anxiety on your own. These challenges aren't definitive of you, your character, or identity. Moments and experiences shape you, they don't define you. Everything in life is a process. My goal is to help my clients to understand themselves, cope with emotions in a healthy way, encourage and promote a healthier mindset to shift their way of thinking into being. The vision for my clients is to assist them in coming home to themselves, living a life in the present as they build towards tomorrow.

How different would life be if your inner-voice built you up instead of tore you down? Imagine noticing all the brilliance you radiate and feeling strong, confident, and committed to being unapologetically you! Hi! I'm Isabella! I'm a therapist for teen girls, college students, and young women, and I'm passionate about helping you see how valuable and worthy you are by recognizing your strength, empowering your self-discovery and sexuality, and teaching you that your inner power overshadows the control of unhealthy relationships, family standards, anxiety, loneliness, childhood trauma, depression, and self-doubt.

Self Esteem Therapists
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.
What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.
What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.
How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
