I'm Luz Martinez, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, specializing in individual, couples and family therapy, and maintain a private practice in Miami, FL. In 2008, I graduated from Florida International University with a Master of Science in Psychology. I've worked in multiple treatment settings with populations ranging from adolescents to the elderly.

I’ve been a therapist for 26 years, blending traditional psychotherapy with neuroscience and mindfulness practices to support an individuals process of integrating mind and body. I have studied extensively the latest developments in neuroscience and how we can use these findings to develop skills to reduce anxiety, alleviate depression, and face our challenges with a renewed perspective. I have over 25 years of experience in clinical therapy. I did my training in Caracas, Venezuela, where I obtained 2 degrees from the Universidad Central de Venezuela, I was summa cum laude and valedictorian in both careers: Psychology and Sociology, then I completed a 3 year postgraduate specialization in Clinical Psychology at "Centro de Salud Mental del Este, El Peñon" a teaching Psychiatric Hospital, where I also was summa cum laude.
