I offer a collaborative, compassionate space where you’re met with empathy and respect. Together, we’ll name the good, confront the bad, and dive into the ugly—because the “ugly” often lies, insisting there’s no good left. By exposing that lie, we reclaim your strengths and shape goals that fit your unique needs. My care is trauma-informed and evidence-based, with safety as the top priority as we address mother and father wounds, trauma, parenting stress, and life transitions. Wherever you are in your healing journey, I’ll meet you there and support your growth.

Trauma is linked to anxiety, depression, and relationship problems (Bessel, 2021). We tend to think that trauma only happens to war veterans or victims of assault. However, being raised in an unpredictable home, difficult relationship with parents, or exposed to stress etc. can have a life-long impact. People can feel hesitant about seeking treatment for trauma because it can open a door to feeling overwhelmed. However, this is not the case with the therapy I provide, Somatic Experiencing, a therapy that takes years to be trained on.

I use a Polyvagal and Somatic EMDR approach to help you regulate your nervous system and move out of a state of survival and into a state of safety and calm.
I specialize in narcissistic abuse and trauma. This includes narcissistic abuse from parents, partners, family members, in the workplace and in high conflict divorce. Whether from someone who is borderline, narcissistic, emotionally immature or self-absorbed, the impact of trauma has a profound effect. I will help you heal the confusion, self-doubt and pain these relationships cause. I believe unhealed trauma is at the root of most of our pain and suffering. Unhealed trauma is stored in the body and it will stay there unless we actively work to release it.

Through EMDR, attachment and somatic focused therapy, you’ll begin to break free from survival mode, reconnect with your self, and rebuild your self-worth.
You’re responsible. Capable. You handle what needs to be handled — you always have. But your body rarely feels at ease. Even when things are going well, there’s a quiet urgency running in the background — a sense that you should be doing more or preparing for what’s next. Rest doesn’t come easily. You’re deeply attuned to others, often overriding your own needs to keep the peace. Relationship patterns repeat, even when you promise yourself, “this time will be different.” More than anything, you want relief — and connections that feel safe and steady.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
