I’ve worked with children and adolescents in a variety of settings for over 20 years. My counseling practice focuses on helping clients work through the issues that prevent them from participating fully in daily living. I use “top down” approaches like Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) along with “bottom up” approaches like biofeedback that work to regulate emotion using the body and breath. I have a strong emphasis on self compassion because I have found that young people who struggle can be very critical of themselves. I work to validate their feelings and normalize their struggles.

Life is constantly changing. Adapting and integrating new insights, perceptions and ideas make up an important aspect of the human experience. Identifying a personal process to mitigate change can be quite helpful, especially when life's curve balls are thrown unexpectedly. As an adoptee, life long learner, career changer, mother, divorcee, and woman, I have found safety, support, solace, and understanding, in the therapist chair. She specializes in working with clients of all ages in order to help them find solutions and relief, especially those who are suffering from alcohol use-related problems, addiction, anxiety, depression, and gender identity and transgender concerns.
