We can, with care and compassion, change the way we move forward starting right now! In our therapeutic work I will support you to develop a strong positive relationship with yourself, which is your foundation for thriving in every other area of your life: partnership, friendship, family, work, creativity,
spirituality
.
Being human is hard. Life with all it's twist and turns can be so confusing, what's right today is wrong tomorrow. Quite possibly you have been thinking about finding a counselor for some time and have been "fighting" societal stigma of mental health services. Telling yourself that you are fine, no one will understand, or feeling shame for needing help. One of my favorite quotes about healing is..."Healing doesn't mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls our lives."

Dr. Le' Isaac J. Gardner Msc.D.
PhD, CTHT, ORDM
As a client of mine, you will reclaim your life by focusing on pulling your issues from the root so that they never occur again. I will walk you back to wholeness and health, leaving things such as the symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, depression, motivation, and family and relationship issues in the past. I also use the wonderful powers of your mind, body, and spirit to enhance your memory, sports performance, optimism,
spirituality
, ability to focus and more.

Primarily focusing on those affected by military service requirements, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, mental health issues, personality disorders, emotional dysregulations, and substance abuse. Additionally, an emphasis on grief associated with oppression and social justice issues when working with families of color.

My clients usually want to feel better faster & learn mind-body-energy-spirit tools rather than rely on medication or even talk therapy long-term. Too often society gives us the message we are a victim of our genes or biochemistry. That makes us believe that healing our heart, brain and body is out of our control, and that our only options are drugs and surgeries. The latest science (neuroplasticity, epigenetics, quantum biology, consciousness studies+) suggests otherwise, showing that our brain, bodily mechanisms, even our genes, respond to our healthy changes in thinking and feeling. Shift our mind, our emotions and life follow.

I believe wholeness consists of 3 intertwined areas of health: spiritual, mental, and physical. My desire is to assist you in achieving and thriving at your greatest potential. What is keeping you from being who you were designed to be? Maybe you've hit a few bumps in the road and have lost your footing or your path. Maybe its a lot of bumps, or maybe they are hills or even mountains. It is in those seasons we need a fresh set of eyes, renewed inspiration, and motivational encouragement to help us get back on track.

**WAITLIST FOR NEW CLIENTS** Having the willingness to bring yourself into the counseling room and sharing your deepest hurts with a stranger can be extremely difficult. Coming in with the openness and desire to get better without knowing how it is all going to work takes a lot of courage. A desire to get better is where it starts, the next step is showing up and allowing yourself to be vulnerable. I know it's scary, but you won't be walking this road alone. My job is to stand alongside you and help guide the steps to healing.

Contrary to popular belief, therapy isn’t just for those in trouble. It can actually be a “think tank” utilized by wholesome individuals to jumpstart their next massive maneuver. Having someone bound by confidentiality to help you process life, it's stressors, or barriers is invaluable.

We all have setbacks from time to time – some big, some small. How we navigate life’s setbacks can make a big difference. Going to counseling can be intimidating, and I understand that. Connecting with someone and talking things through is essential for our “mental fitness.” Mental health/fitness focus is just as necessary as our physical fitness. Whether you want to map out a career change/advancement or struggling with life changes, trauma, anxiety, general stress, feeling overwhelmed, chronic illness, or something is just not right; please allow me to help you bring balance to your life.

There is so much pressure as a teen girl and young woman. Lots of change and transitions. I've spent my career as a therapist helping teen girls and young women navigate many difficult moments and accomplish amazing growth. I value a holistic approach and help teen girls and women assess 5 key areas - mental, physical, emotional, spiritual and social. Using a coaching approach to treatment we look at strengths and ways that lifestyle may be affecting your mental health. Becoming emotionally prepared for college or the transition into adulthood is critical to every aspect of your life. I can help you learn how to do this well.

Spirituality Therapists
What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?
Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.
What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?
There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviors. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.
Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?
Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.
How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?
Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
