In addition, trauma has a significant impact on your life and can be experienced mentally, emotionally, and physically. You're here, which means you're ready for help. So, let's talk.
I think as human beings we want to feel seen, heard, appreciated, respected, loved, and valued. I believe most of us want to make a difference in the lives of those around us, our loved ones, friends and community. Making a difference and enjoying healthy and gratifying relationships and contributing to one's community can take many forms but they all involve relationships. If you find yourself feeling deeply unhappy, confused and dissatisfied in any of your relationships, I'd like to learn more about you and what you are seeking in your life and in your relationships.
Does worrying about weight and calories take up most of your thoughts? Do you purge, use laxatives, or compulsively exercise? Do you binge eat, "night eat", or eat when you are not hungry and you don't know why? Do you fear you're "addicted" to food? Does your weight go up and down a lot, and it has for most of your life? Are you worried your child or teen has an eating disorder? Do you feel like you'll never be "normal" when it comes to food and weight?
Please Contact Us Via Email- Despite some level of hesitation or reluctance, YOU are ready to give yourself a chance to address those challenges impacting your functioning and overall happiness. It's fine if you're not 100% sure about therapy, but you know for sure you want something different than your current reality.
Maybe you feel down, annoyed, or anxious. Perhaps you avoid, give in, or act out. Maybe it’s hard to connect to others or to yourself. Those experiences are deeply rooted in how the big people around you acted when you were small. The patterns can be powerfully updated through therapy. In therapy, you can be known, accompanied, and valued. The relationship is protected and safe. It makes room for you and challenges you to connect to and make room for another. Therapy alleviates aloneness, lessens emotional pain, and connects you to your authentic self- that is, what the hell you really think, feel, and care about.
Being a new mom is hard. You’re sleep deprived, learning your new little one, and everyone has advice for you. “Sleep when the baby sleeps; you’ll feel better, and happier, when you get a few more hours of sleep; It’s just the baby blues, you’ll be ok in a few weeks; the house work can get done later, make sure the baby is eating enough…” What if you’re still sad after “a few weeks”, you feel scared, anxious, or can't turn your thoughts off? It can start to feel like you are getting through each day in "survival mode". With the help of our knowledgeable counselors, you can stop "surviving" life and start enjoying it.
Asking for help from a friend or loved one can be difficult, especially when you are struggling with feelings of sadness or anxiety. How do I share something so personal with someone else? What will they think? The obstacles we encounter may seem overwhelming at times, particularly if paired with feelings of sadness or anxiety. But these feelings are very normal and indicative of struggle, whether it be conflict with a loved one or a pattern of undue self-criticism. Counseling can provide a therapeutic space for individuals to share their problems, to discover healthier ways of coping and to develop deeper relations with others.
I NEED HELP!! Now more than ever before there is a need for mental health counseling. The psychosocial stressors caused by the pandemic - the physical risks, the daily disruptions, uncertainty, social isolation, financial loss - coupled with feelings of helplessness, hopelessness (all known to affect mental health and thereby physical health) are legend. In my practice I see individuals, couples, and children ages 8 through the teenage years. I've had much success with parents reaching out for help with their children who are experiencing the same psychological toll of the unnatural circumstance of isolation at home.
I am a clinically licensed social worker who assists clients in developing strategies to overcome the impact of depression and anxiety, address unhealthy relationship patterns, and heal from childhood trauma, sexual assault or relationship violence. I am also an LGBTQ-plus affirming therapist. I have been fortunate throughout my career to have been chosen by a diverse group of clients to facilitate their journey towards their desired life.

I have had experience in the private and the public sector, counseling and developing individuals to meet their highest potential. Currently licensed as LMHC in the State of Florida, I have had much experience in providing therapy for individuals that have a history of abuse or neglect. I am very familiar with working with troubled families, and couples with relationship issues.
I look forward to working with you! As your provider you can expect that I will be someone who is direct and honest, yet compassionate. I am solution focused and goal oriented. My patients have described me as being easy to talk to which helps them feel comfortable early in the therapeutic process. I pride myself on building a therapeutic alliance and providing empathy and compassion. I believe that the patient is the expert on their situation and that my role is to empower and support.
Going to talk to somebody about relationships, emotions, and feelings can be new territory for some. It’s hard to share our most private thoughts and experiences with people we don’t know. However, it’s often easier to share with those people that are objective and aren’t in your inner circle like a therapist. Life has gotten even more complex with Covid bringing an increase in fear, stress, anxiety, grief, and suicide. I can offer you 20+ years of experience in multiple areas and modalities of therapy. I’d be happy to chat with you for a few moments to answer any of your questions and to listen to see how I may be of help to you
