Most people seek someone on the outside looking in, someone to truly listen with no judgement. Someone that is able to hold space, while we process our darkest and our brightness; where we bare it all and come to a space, where we find solace in our core with the tools needed for our daily struggles.

"Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It's a relationship between equals. Only when we know our own darkness well can we be present with the darkness of others. Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity." -Pema Chodron. From this place of compassion, I embrace a collaborative approach in therapy to help you address current life challenges, explore lifelong patterns, and/or develop areas for personal growth. I see adolescents and adults.

I specialize in working with women who experience Imposter Syndrome, Superwoman Syndrome, and
grief

Is this you? Feel incompetent despite knowledge, experience, and expertise. Are concerned others will find out who you “really are.” Think what you do is never enough. Rarely celebrate accomplishments before moving to another task or project. Believe everything in your life has to be “perfect.” Wear multiple hats (e.g. mom, wife, CEO, sponsor) in your life and feel pulled in multiple directions. Believe you have to meet everyone’s needs. Find time for others but have difficulty making time for yourself. Struggle with self-care. Believe you don’t deserve or shy away from recognition of your accomplishments.

as a survivor of
loss
and trauma,I better understand the impact of
loss
and trauma, and help my clients find an effective way to cope with the pain, anxiety, and depression that often accompany these events.
I love working with men/women from 18+.I help individuals and couples deal with: life transitions such as divorce, relationship concerns,
loss
,ptsd, anxiety, and depression. I offer traditional talking therapy, body work, meditation, and personal and spiritual counseling. My approach is simple . I must develop an open, trusting relationship, one of mutual respect and safety for my client to grow. I consider my relationship with my client as a partnership, and am interactive, but not confrontational in my approach. Transitions and trauma make it impossible for us not to integrate our spiritual needs with our emotional needs.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
