Psychotherapist with a history of working with adults and adolescents. As a therapist with a social work background, my practice is person-centered and rooted in empathy. My goal is to support you on your journey to improved mental health by connecting with your values and taking steps towards personal goals. I've had a lot of success working with clients who were uncertain about therapy or had a bad experience with it in the past. I bring a lot of care and intention to the work that I do and receive feedback that clients feel more than just heard but also supported in developing applicable skills they were seeking from therapy.

Live the life YOU love, that you intentionally created! It may sound cliché, but my goal for everyone of my clients is for you to be the architect of your own life. A lot of us fall into our lives or we wake up one day and wonder, “How did I get here?” Well I am here to help you live with intention, that includes making conscious choices to propel your life, go after your dreams or even get out of your own head. A lot of times we may have some obstacles such as past trauma, negative thought patterns or unhealthy relationships that have gotten us to this spot, and it is so very hard to break free at times. That is where I come in.

Hello! I strive to come to each session in a fully authentic way and provide a space for healing, transformation and hope. I have 20 plus years of experience in a variety of settings. Acceptance, connection, empathy, support and humor is what I aim to bring to therapy and to encourage exploration, growth and healing. Some of the steps that I support in therapy are increasing hope, releasing old beliefs that no longer work for us, trusting ourselves, healing and transforming our lives more and more into the people we want to be.

Are you someone who's struggling with symptoms related to ADHD or autism, like impulsivity, social anxiety, sensory issues, or distractibility? Do you find it hard to connect with others? Were you told that you had unlimited potential and feel like you've not lived up to that, especially with hobbies you showed great skill at? Were you a high-achiever in academics or athletics? Life can leave you feeling stretched thin. Maybe your mind won’t turn off - replaying conversations, second-guessing what you said, wondering if you handled things “right.” This might leave you feeling sad, lonely, anxious, or simply drained, with nothing left in your tank. You're not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. My goal is to offer a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported - not judged. With over two decades of experience, I help clients untangle what feels overwhelming, gain clarity about what matters most, and move toward a life that feels more balanced and satisfying.

Trauma responses & beliefs can FEEL permanent when you have the coping skills but LACK the ability to access them. What you need is a more somatic approach to healing memory networks w/ more desirable response patterns learned from what's past, to reflexively improve responses in similar future instances. EMDR does wonders for issues w/ control, self-worth, attachment, identity, performance, and/or hypersensitivity. We’ll demystify how EMDR works as a domino healing effect, prepare you for what to expect, AND give you a taste of its efficiency. If the goal is therapy that works to become PRN, I'm the EMDR Therapist for you.

LGBTQ+ Therapists
Do LGBTQ-affirmative therapists receive special training?
Yes. Many therapists who practice LGBTQ-affirmative therapy have completed specialized training, either during their degree program or as continuing education, to learn the core principles of affirmative therapy and how to best support their LGBTQ clients; some have received certifications in LGBTQ-affirmative therapy. Prospective clients should inquire as to a clinician’s background and training to ensure a good fit.

Why might I want to see an LGBTQ-affirming or LGBTQ-friendly therapist?
Queer and gender-non-conforming individuals frequently experience bias and marginalization in day-to-day life. Working with a therapist who understands these unique challenges, as well as accepts and affirms their identity, can help LGBTQ clients feel safe and supported during therapy—allowing them to better navigate their relationships, mental health, and anything else that they wish to explore during therapy. It is important to note that many therapists can be effective in their work with LGBTQ+ individuals, even in the absence of specific training or background knowledge. The most important component in therapy is the alliance between therapist and client, and this alliance can exist between individuals with very different backgrounds.

How can I find an LGBTQ-friendly therapist?
You may wish to inquire about a therapist’s expertise with your specific challenges or concerns—depression, for example, or relationship strife—as well as their past experiences treating LGBTQ+ clients. Prospective clients may also ask whether a therapist has obtained additional training and/or certification in LGBTQ-affirmative techniques.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience with LGBTQ issues?
Prospective clients should feel empowered to directly ask therapists whether they have received training or been certified in LGBTQ-affirming therapy; competent therapists will be happy to explain their educational background and preferred approach(es) to help a client find the best match for them. Clients may also wish to ask how a therapist has treated clients with their particular challenges in the past and what they expect treatment to look like.

Are all the therapists listed in the LGBTQ directory themselves members of the LGBTQ community?
While therapists may choose to disclose their sexual orientation or gender identity in their profiles, the LGBTQ directory features not only those who have shared this information but also those who assert specialized training or experience in providing support to queer individuals, couples or families.
