Very few things affect your enjoyment of life or sense of well being as much as the state of your marriage. The great news is that Improving the quality of your relationship is attainable. But it's vital to choose a counselor with training in methods that are proven and validated by research. Dave is the only male therapist approved for the Gottman Network between Atlanta and Orlando to have completed Level 3 in The Gottman Couples Counseling Method - the product of over 30 years of empirical research by Dr. John Gottman into what makes relationships succeed or fail.

For the last 30 years of my 40 years in practice, I have had a special interest and focus on conflict management. I have worked closely with colleagues in the private sector and the courts to develop programs and relationships that effectively assist those having difficulty managing their behavior in their interactions with others. Out of this has come my current focus on individual and couples counseling, anger management, and my commitment to change-oriented treatment techniques associated with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My approach is low on pretense; high on listening, feedback and direction.

Frustrated with your own inability to consistently act according to your good intentions? I have been there. I have learned it was not my own doings but an internal conflict that was not my true self. I needed help to break free of old cycles, ideals, patterns, and ways of thinking. Many clients experience the same frustration of wanting to do what’s right yet feeling stuck in old habits, thought patterns, or emotional cycles. As a mental health professional, my role is to help clients identify the internal conflicts that create this struggle between who they are and who they want to be.

Fulfilling our potential is a lifelong journey of becoming more at peace with ourselves, deepening the intimacy in our relationships, being more authentically human, and feeling more alive each day. Along the way, certain challenges arise to cause us distress or confusion. Such moments can make us feel held back, afraid, or unsure of where to go from here. But these moments can also be the points of growth and healing from which we renew ourselves in ways we did not think possible.

After overcoming some of my own personal struggles by utilizing therapy, I began my career in mental health with a deep passion for helping people find healing and purpose through some of life’s most difficult moments. I aim to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, respected, and safe to explore whatever is on your mind. Whether you're looking for deep reflection, practical tools, or just someone to listen without judgment, I will meet you where you are.

Whether you feel stuck in a job, having relationship issues, stressed with trying to balance obligations, struggling with facing a challenge, adjusting to new changes, or difficulty managing anxiety about the past I am here to walk with you. You are not alone in this walk. I offer a supportive, warm and laid back therapy style. I am not in the space of judgment and welcome you to come as you are. Therapy or asking for help is not a sign of weakness; but part of the human experience. We all want to connect and sometimes it is easier with a non-biased neutral person.

I work with adults (ages 18+) to treat a multitude of concerns including depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, substance/ alcohol use disorders, trauma, PTSD, self-esteem, identity development, life transitions, and interpersonal relationships.
It takes courage to seek therapy and begin the journey towards a more satisfying life. It is not always the easiest path, but one that proves to be invaluable for most in the end. My approach to therapy is to provide a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere where my clients can openly explore all aspects of their lives in a caring, compassionate, and collaborative therapeutic relationship. I believe each client I meet is a unique individual deserving of an individualized approach and personalized treatment plan. You will never get a "one size fits all" approach with me.
