We provide outpatient treatment for alcohol use and addiction.
With over 25 years in addiction treatment across residential programs, correctional settings, MAT, and community care, I’ve work with individuals used to handling life on their own—veterans, blue-collar professionals, members of the motorcycle community, and men and women who value loyalty, privacy, and strength. Many have lived through trauma, addiction, and years in survival mode, carrying the weight alone. My approach is direct, grounded, and respectful. I don’t judge or lecture. I meet you where you are and help you build a solid path forward. Therapy can be practical, honest, and connected to real life—not clinical or detached.

Live the life YOU love, that you intentionally created! It may sound cliché, but my goal for everyone of my clients is for you to be the architect of your own life. A lot of us fall into our lives or we wake up one day and wonder, “How did I get here?” Well I am here to help you live with intention, that includes making conscious choices to propel your life, go after your dreams or even get out of your own head. A lot of times we may have some obstacles such as past trauma, negative thought patterns or unhealthy relationships that have gotten us to this spot, and it is so very hard to break free at times. That is where I come in.

Most people I work with are holding things together on the outside while everything feels like it’s slipping underneath. You may be managing work, relationships, or legal stress while struggling with addiction—it’s exhausting to keep going like this. I work with capable, responsible individuals in that position. Over 20 years ago, I was given the chance to turn my life around through treatment—I remember the doubt and fear. Together, we get practical, slow things down, and build a clear path forward—especially when things feel like they’re on the line.

Life can leave you feeling stretched thin. Maybe your mind won’t turn off - replaying conversations, second-guessing what you said, wondering if you handled things “right.” This might leave you feeling sad, lonely, anxious, or simply drained, with nothing left in your tank. You're not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. My goal is to offer a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported - not judged. With over two decades of experience, I help clients untangle what feels overwhelming, gain clarity about what matters most, and move toward a life that feels more balanced and satisfying.

If you've ever asked the question, "“What do we do with our family member whose drug use and drinking is out of control?” you are not alone. I started The Chronic Hope Institute with the intention of offering my answer to that question—one I get almost every day. You have a much greater chance for success if the whole family, not just the addict, is engaged in recovery. My plan is quick and to the point so we can triage the immediate problem. Then, only once we put the initial fire out, would we spend more time addressing the bigger issues.

Professional women are often the go-to at home, work, and in social groups; they get it done but are left feeling exhausted. Together we’ll focus on helping you manage stress, get quality sleep, and prioritize what really matters to you. Then we'll dive deeper and explore where this drive to give until you're drained comes from and help you decide how you might want to modify this approach. It may be time to shed people-pleasing and fear of upsetting others. Letting go of fear opens a space for you to take care of yourself, have fun, learn to enjoy saying “no,” and live the life you want for yourself and your loved ones.

Alcohol Use Therapists
Are there specific medications for alcohol use?
There are oral medications approved to treat alcohol use disorder—such as disulfiram, acamprosate, and naltrexone, which also comes in an injectable form. These medications do help people reduce their drinking as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone helps reduce cravings, disulfiram can make a person feel sick when they drink, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.

How do alcohol recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other patients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals live at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff can also include people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other tools for recovery.

How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.

How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for alcohol use reduce the amount of alcohol they intake. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.
