I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist in the state of Florida. I work with a wide range of clients from teens to adults helping them to find the best versions of themselves. We often need an objective person to just listen but if that person has specific skills and training in fields like Positive Psychology, Mindfulness, Breathing Techniques, Visualization, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and EMDR it can help open up your navigational trail to a more joyous and energetic life so much more quickly. I also work with athletes from the middle school to Division 1 college level and am a Certified Sports Psychology Coach.

I provide research-informed couples therapy for partners navigating high-conflict cycles, major transitions, parenting stress, and relationship wounds.
People often come to therapy feeling stuck in the same painful patterns — tired of the conflict, distance, built up resentment, or loss of trust. I help individuals and couples find direction when they feel disconnected or at a crossroads. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed and unsure how to move forward, even though they are doing their best to hold everything together. Therapy can be a space to slow down, feel supported, and begin to find clarity and relief. Meaningful change happens in safe, supportive relationships.

I also offer play therapy for children who need their own safe space, and parent coaching through The Parenting Haven for caregivers who want to show up differently for their kids.
Are you exhausted in a way that rest doesn't fix? Do you feel like you've spent your whole life holding it together — showing up for everyone around you while quietly running on empty? Oak Haven Therapy is a telehealth practice for women across Florida who are ready to understand themselves more deeply and finally stop just surviving. Many of the women I work with learned early to be capable, self-sufficient, and strong. They built full lives. And they've been carrying a quiet ache for a long time — a sense that something important has gone unattended, that a part of them never quite got what she needed.

Do you feel isolated in suffering in a room full of your favorite people, when embracing your partner, or even with a past therapist? Navigating life’s struggles and transitions is unsettling at best, even more so when you find yourself unable to ground in your current relationships. For some, a nonjudgmental, safe space is needed to examine and address the barriers that prevent connection so that you can approach change with curiosity instead of fear. I have experience in assisting individuals, couples, and families of all ages in addressing trauma, anxiety, depression, and substance use concerns.

What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
