Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach. I meet individuals of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds with a focus on identifying what makes them unique. Using my holistic approach, I provide a safe and healing environment for clients to share their stories so that we can make enhancements to enrich their lives together. My belief is that each client’s compilation of struggles requires customized treatment suited to their needs. Regardless of the treatment style, I aim to help every client increase their self-awareness, gain new perspectives, decrease their symptoms, and increase awareness of their personal strengths.

Perhaps you’ve spent years trying to be “perfect” or to feel "good enough" and yet good enough never feels enough. Or maybe the noise of others’ control and desires stifles your own voice. You could be the person constantly taking care of others where you don’t know what it’s like to tend to your own needs. Or perhaps you’ve grown accustomed to hearing that you’re “too sensitive” or “emotional” where you’ve wondered why you feel things so strongly in comparison to others. Whether its shame, stress, life transitions, trauma, relationship issues, anxiety, or another life struggle, we can work together through your adversity.

There are times when we go through life where we appear to be high-functioning on the outside, but on the inside, one may feel stuck-whether emotionally, relationally, or professionally. Perhaps you're struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or a sense of not being "good enough." Whether you are a college student trying to navigate academic pressure or someone balancing roles while silently questioning your worth. And perhaps you've reached a point where you are ready to feel more grounded, connected, and whole with the ability to better manage your own emotions and life's challenges.

You've noticed you or your child are not acting like yourselves. You're dealing with mood swings, low motivation, or pulling away from people you used to be close to. This affects everything: your relationships, your school/work performance, and your confidence. You're navigating something challenging and need the right support. With the right help, you or your child can learn to express your feelings instead of bottling them up, manage stress before it becomes overwhelming and reconnect with family and friends.

I am a bi-lingual (English and Haitian Creole) speaking counselor. I believe the most valuable skill I posses as a counselor is the ability to create a warm and inviting environment for my clients. As a counselor, I understand that the greatest change agent is the relationship that we develop during our sessions. And that can only be done by allowing you the space to open up. That is why I pride myself as being a good listener, compassionate, and easy to talk to.

I believe that conflict in relationships does not always mean the relationship will not work. Often, conflict is a sign that you're trying to make it work but you're feeling stuck, unheard, or not seen. I enjoy working with couples who feel stuck in patterns of disconnection, conflict, or misunderstanding. Together, we explore how attachment styles and past wounds show up in the present relationship. My goal is to help you slow down, truly hear one another, and rebuild connection with empathy and care. I believe healing happens when both people feel seen, understood, and supported.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
