Dear Hurting Person, Perhaps life for you has become so painful or complicated that you do not know what to do for relief. Is your experience of suffering overwhelming? Do your problems appear to have no real solutions? Are the very things that you used to do to cope with life no longer working? Are you feeling despair? Pain expresses itself through many feelings: loneliness, anxiety, grief, inadequacy, guilt, shame, emptiness, fear, obsession, sadness, depression , and even anger or rage. Confusion reigns when you are lost in anguish. Stress often restricts your clarity of thought and inhibits action.

It can be difficult to come to a psychologist's office to speak about our lives and people often suffer in silence because they believe their problems are too large, too small, unimportant or that nothing can bring about change. It is important to work through the things that cause us depression , anxiety or discomfort. Therefore, I approach every person as a special individual having unique experiences. While providing a safe, relaxing setting, I look for ways we can work together to change even the most tumultuous circumstances into calm, peaceful situations which lead a client to have enjoyable lives.

Feelings of depression and anxiety can be overwhelming and even quite painful. It is not always possible to "just shake it off". My clients are every day people who find themselves indulging "what if" questions all night when all they really want to do is get a good night of sleep. I have dedicated my career to helping people overcome challenges. I take great caring and respect of individuality to tailor my therapeutic approach for each person's highly individualized needs. Philosopher, Aristotle, once said: "Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom...and inner peace".

I help individuals, like you, overcome anxiety & depression .
The hamster wheel you’re on seems to be spinning out of control. Your mind races with endless thoughts about all you have to do, and everything that’s wrong in your life. You feel nervous and overwhelmed by these anxious thoughts. You're not sleeping, you've got unhealthy eating habits and you've started drinking more. Nothing you’ve tried seems to work. You’re smart and accomplished…you get things done…you’ve always been the problem solver. And yet, you can’t seem to get a handle on this anxiety, and it’s starting to impact your relationships and your job. You know you need to do something, but you just don't know what that is.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
